Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy visits and extends New Year greetings in Que Phong and Quy Chau districts
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 5, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited and extended New Year greetings in Que Phong and Quy Chau districts.
Accompanying the delegation were comrades: Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Tran Hai Binh - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard; Doan Hong Vu - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Vi Van Son - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Provincial Police, and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.
On the morning of February 5, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited, wished a Happy New Year, and presented gifts to the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, units, former leaders, prestigious village elders, and policy households in Que Phong district.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy visited and presented gifts to the Que Phong District Party Committee and listened to a report on preparations for people in the district.
In 2020, with the spirit of solidarity and efforts of the entire political system and people, Que Phong district has achieved relatively positive results in all aspects.
The total product in the area increased by 7.85%, the average income per capita reached 28.82 million VND, an increase of 7.4% compared to 2019; the poverty rate decreased by 3.89% to 22.6%; 4 villages and hamlets met new rural standards.

The work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic has achieved good results, especially the strict control of people crossing the border, contributing to effective prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic in the area.
Party building and political system building work have been strengthened. There have been no major and complicated incidents in the area; security and order, border security, and security in ethnic minority areas have been maintained and ensured...
Responding to the Provincial Party Secretary's appeal for support and assistance to poor households to celebrate the Lunar New Year, the district has called on and mobilized organizations, individuals, and businesses inside and outside the district to support poor households, policy families, meritorious people, and students with a total amount of 3,671 billion VND.

100% of poor households (3,633 households), policy households, meritorious people and students received gifts worth VND500,000 or more. Students alone received 4,519 gifts, with a total value of VND932.7 million.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary commended and congratulated the achievements and important contributions of cadres, party members and people of Que Phong district in the recent past.
In 2021, the head of the Provincial Party Committee requested the district to focus highly on the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic; accordingly, Que Phong needs to be thorough, determined, methodical, serious, and promote the responsibility of the community.
The Standing Committee of Que Phong District Party Committee and Party committees at all levels need to continue to focus on forest protection; associated with searching for and building economic models under the forest canopy, relying on forests to improve people's lives.
Emphasizing that Que Phong is an important area for national defense and security, the Provincial Party Secretary suggested that the district needs to coordinate well between forces to grasp early and firmly the security and order situation in the area right from the grassroots level; fight against all types of crimes, including drug crimes; and ensure a peaceful border.
Que Phong also needs to focus on organizing a joyful, safe, cozy, and economical Spring and Tet celebration for the people. After Tet, there needs to be a plan to get back to work immediately, especially encouraging people to focus on production and taking care of crops and livestock to achieve the best results in 2021.

The Provincial Party Secretary and the delegation visited and extended New Year greetings in Dong Van commune. This is a remote commune, more than 28 km northwest of Que Phong district center. The whole commune has 761 households, 3,123 people, with 7 ethnic groups living together, mainly Thai ethnic group accounting for 95%. The Party Committee has 11 Party cells, 231 Party members, and 15 Party Committee members.
Dong Van is still a poor commune, with 125 poor households (16.43%) and 362 near-poor households (47.57%). Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, the commune has achieved 15/19 new rural criteria; two villages, Pu Duoc and Tuc Pang, have met new rural standards.

Preparing to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation, philanthropists, agencies, units and enterprises located in the commune donated 258 gifts to poor, near-poor, policy households and extremely disadvantaged households with a value of over 150 million VND; at the same time, promptly distributed 6,525 kg of rice to 113 households.
At Dong Van commune office, the Provincial Party Secretary directly visited the offices, met and asked about the work situation, working conditions, and life of cadres, civil servants, police, and military officers of the commune.

Recognizing and praising the results achieved by Dong Van commune in 2020, wishing a happy Lunar New Year to Dong Van commune, comrade Thai Thanh Quy discussed a number of key tasks for the locality, including the need to do a good job in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, especially relying on the "eyes and ears" of the people to grasp the people coming and going in the area.
The Party Committee and the communal government also need to continue to focus on socio-economic development, especially reviewing and guiding the replication of economic models based on forest economy and aquaculture on the Hua Na hydroelectric reservoir; and establishing cooperatives.
Thereby, improving the material and spiritual life of the people, reducing the poverty rate of the commune; ensuring security and order in the area; respecting, promoting and preserving the good cultural values of the ethnic groups in the area, associated with encouraging people to gradually eliminate backward customs.
To do so, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized the need to build a truly strong Party committee, government, and political system of the commune; especially the team of cadres and civil servants of the commune need to arrange and organize reasonable time at the grassroots level to grasp the situation, understand the people, thereby helping the people more effectively.

Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and his delegation visited and extended New Year greetings at Thong Thu Commune. This is a mountainous border commune located in the northwest of Que Phong District, with nearly 34 km of border adjacent to the Vieng Phan Cluster of Laos.
The commune currently has 8 villages, 1,142 households with 4,904 people, with 3 main ethnic groups: Kinh, Thai, Tho, of which the Thai ethnic group accounts for 99%. The commune Party Committee has 13 affiliated Party cells with 392 Party members.
The rate of poor and near-poor households is 561 households, accounting for 49.17%. Up to now, the commune has achieved 14/19 criteria for new rural construction and has 1 commune reaching the new rural finish line in 2020.

In the commune, Thong Thu Border Post is stationed - managing nearly 34 km of border with 9 landmarks, and 1 Thong Thu - Nam Tay secondary border gate.
Over the past year, the officers and soldiers of the station have performed well their assigned tasks in various aspects of work such as: disseminating and educating the law, helping people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, managing and protecting the border, and foreign affairs.
Visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of Thong Thu Border Post, Thong Thu Commune Party Committee, Commune Police, Commune Military Command, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy highly appreciated the specific and positive results in socio-economic development and ensuring security - national defense, maintaining national border sovereignty in Thong Thu Commune.

As a border area, the head of the Provincial Party Committee also noted that Thong Thu commune closely coordinated with the forces stationed in the area to achieve "3 peaces": "Peaceful border, peaceful area and peaceful people".
To do so, first of all, the Party Committee, government, and political system of the commune must be close to the grassroots, understand the people; at the same time, strengthen foreign relations with Laos.
The commune also needs to promote the role of self-governing groups to maintain peace in the area; build and replicate good economic models, ensure livelihoods so that people have the conditions to rise up, improve people's lives, thereby bringing peace to the people.

For Thong Thu Border Guard Station, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the unit to do well the "3 masters" including: Mastering the situation in the area; mastering oneself (must maintain discipline, order, and be proficient in professional skills; good qualities and ideology; using discipline as strength, worthy of being a frontline soldier protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland, protecting the country early and from afar); must proactively reach out to the people (absorb the motto: the station is home, the border is homeland, the people are our brothers).
The Provincial Party Secretary and the working delegation visited, encouraged and wished a Happy New Year to officers and soldiers of Post No. 2 of Thong Thu Border Guard Station who are on duty on the border.
This is one of four border checkpoints of Thong Thu Border Guard Station to effectively prevent illegal entry and control and prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

On this occasion, in Que Phong district, comrade Thai Thanh Quy visited, presented gifts, and wished a happy new year to the family of Mr. Sam The Huan, a 1/4 disabled veteran in Kim Son town; and the family of Ms. Luong Thi Hoa in Hiep Phong village, Thong Thu commune. Her husband died early, Ms. Hoa's job is unstable, so her family is poor and their house is very makeshift. She is raising 3 children, one of whom is paralyzed. Sharing the situation of Ms. Hoa's family, the Provincial Party Secretary presented gifts to congratulate the new year, and supported the family with 70 million VND to rebuild the house, contributing to stabilizing their lives.

Acknowledging the district's achievements in 2020, entering 2021 with continued forecasts of many difficulties and challenges as the Covid-19 pandemic is developing very complicatedly, the Provincial Party Secretary noted a number of key issues for the district, first of all, focusing highly on the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
