(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 13, starting a working visit to India, a high-ranking delegation from Nghe An province came to offer flowers at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in New Delhi, India.

The delegation was led by Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.
Also attending were comrade Nguyen Thanh Hai - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to India and Embassy staff.
The delegation of Nghe An province included comrade Pham Trong Hoang - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee's Executive Committee: Nguyen Dinh Hung - Chief of the Provincial Party Committee's Office; Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Director of the Department of Health; Hoang Thi Thu Trang - Director of the Department of Justice; Nguyen Viet Hung - Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Hoang Quoc Viet - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Bui Duy Dong - Secretary of the Do Luong District Party Committee. Also attending were comrades: Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Bui Duy Son - Chief of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation, the Provincial People's Council and representatives of leaders of a number of agencies.

The statue of President Ho Chi Minh is located in G20 Park, which is over 4,700 square meters wide.2, located in the diplomatic quarter, at the intersection of Kautilya Road and Niti Road, is considered the "heart" of the capital New Delhi.
The bronze statue was designed, executed and completed by Indian artist Ram Sutar based on comments from the Art Appraisal Council and was inaugurated in 2021 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-India diplomatic relations (1972 - 2022).
The relationship between Vietnam and India has a 2,000-year history associated with the introduction of Buddhism from India to Vietnam.
In modern times, Vietnam and India have a traditional, close friendship, preserved, nurtured and continuously developed by generations of leaders of the two countries.

Since the 1950s, President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru laid the foundation for a deep and lasting friendship through visits and contacts that went beyond diplomatic protocol.
Immediately after the Dien Bien Phu Victory, Prime Minister Nehru became the first foreign politician to visit Vietnam in October 1954. President Ho Chi Minh paid an official visit to India in February 1958, leaving a special impression on Indian friends.
Since then, the Indian people have become traditional friends, actively supporting the heroic national liberation struggles of the Vietnamese people.

The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1954, when India opened its Consulate General in Hanoi. In 1956, Vietnam established its Consulate General in New Delhi.
On January 7, 1972, Vietnam and India upgraded their relations to the Ambassadorial level. In 2003, the two countries signed the Joint Statement on the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Cooperation Framework entering the 21st century.

On July 5, 2007, Vietnam and India established a Strategic Partnership and on September 3, 2016, upgraded the relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Currently, this South Asian country is one of six countries with a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam, including: China, Russia, India, South Korea, the United States, and Japan.
