At 10:48 a.m. on December 30, 2020, Do Luong District Police coordinated with Tuong Duong District Police to arrest Hoang Nghia Lam, born in 1979, residing in Phuong Hoang hamlet, Hung Long commune, Hung Nguyen district, for illegally transporting drugs.

During the arrest, the subject threw his bag at the riverbank, jumped from Khe Kien bridge and swam across the river. The detectives swam after him and caught him, ensuring the safety of the arresting force. The seized evidence included a black bag containing two rectangular blocks suspected to beheroinweighing more than 0.7 kg.
At the investigation agency, Hoang Nghia Lam confessed to buying 2 heroin cakes from a strange man in Tuong Duong district for 120 million VND; however, when Lam returned home, he took some out to use but found that the quality was poor, so he brought it to Khe Kien bridge area to return the goods and was arrested by the Investigation Committee.
Currently, Do Luong District Police are continuing to investigate and handle the case according to the provisions of law./.
