Big fire in a warehouse of nearly 2,000 m2 behind Vinh market

(Baonghean.vn) - At around 1:30 p.m. on December 9, a large fire broke out at a warehouse filled with Tet goods located behind Vinh market. Upon receiving the report, authorities arrived at the scene to put out the fire.

Up to now, there are no specific statistics, but it is estimated that nearly 10 warehouses were damaged, of which 4 were completely burned down. In addition, many other warehouses were affected by fire spreading or goods that had to be evacuated were broken, crushed, or damaged; some surrounding booths were damaged by water seepage.

At the scene, tons of goods of all kinds were burned to a crisp. Almost all of these items were damaged and had no value. In addition, in the warehouses of the traders there were also safes, debt books, customer lists, and purchased goods.

According to traders, when the fire broke out, there were a lot of goods in the warehouse, mainly goods prepared for Tet, so the damage was very heavy. Many households could become penniless and in debt after this terrible fire. The estimated damage is several billion VND.

Given the seriousness of the incident, Nghe An Provincial Police invited the Ministry of Public Security's Institute of Criminal Science and Technology to send technical experts in the field of fire and explosion to inspect and examine traces at the scene of the fire.

At the scene, the investigation team focused on collecting traces and samples to conduct an examination and determine the origin of the fire and the cause of the fire.

Currently, the authorities are urgently analyzing samples collected from the burnt kiosks for appraisal and will give an official conclusion as soon as possible.
