The finance sector document quoted the opinion of the Ministry of Transport that the work of controlling the payment of fees by vehicle owners has been deployed by the Vietnam Register on the nationwide network software. Therefore, the authorities can conduct lookups and monitoring without having to base on the road use fee payment stamp as at present.

Thereby, to reduce administrative procedures and reduce costs for collection and payment, the leaders of the Ministry of Finance agreed with the proposal to remove the application of the above stamp type and requested the Ministry of Transport to propose amendments to the current Circular No. 133/2014/TT-BTC.

The leaders of the Ministry of Finance also requested the transport sector to study and propose solutions to strengthen the management of road use fee collection and payment, to ensure correct and sufficient collection, create favorable conditions for fee payers as well as collection and payment management activities.

Previously, the transport sector proposed to abolish road use fee stamps and collect this fee through inspection stamps.

Accordingly, to control the fee payment of vehicle owners, motor vehicle inspection centers can completely look up whether the vehicle has paid the fee or not, and when the fee was paid. Based on the database of the Vietnam Register, the inspection centers will determine the next fee payment period of the vehicle without basing on the road use fee payment stamp./.
