Localities respond to Drug Prevention Action Month

* In the first 6 months of 2018, local authoritiesQuy Chau district27 cases and 29 drug offenders were discovered and arrested. It is worth noting that the majority of drug offenders are addicts and HIV-infected; there are many families where both father, mother and children are addicts and have committed drug crimes.

Currently, compulsory drug rehabilitation work in Quy Chau is being implemented effectively. Authorities at all levels have made records to send 26 people to compulsory drug rehabilitation facilities.

The implementation of drug substitution treatment with Methadone at the District Medical Center and Chau Tien and Chau Binh locations is maintained and ensured, currently there are 57 people taking the drug.

TAt the launching ceremony, the District People's Committee called on officials and people in the area to absolutely commit not to use or try drugs; not to transport, trade or store drugs; and each individual to do a good job of drug prevention and control propaganda.

Also at the launching ceremony, representatives of leaders of 12 communes and towns in Quy Chau district signed a commitment to effectively carry out propaganda work to prevent and combat drug abuse.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, more than 200 officers, soldiers of the armed forces, and youth union members in the area organized a parade in response on the main roads of the district.

* Currently, the situation of drug trafficking and use in the areaDien Chau districtcomplicated. The whole district has 480 addicts, 2 complicated drug hotspots, 14 drug retail points, and the number of people trafficking in large quantities is increasing.

At the launching ceremony, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district set out four key tasks: Mobilizing the participation of the entire community in the fight against and denouncing drug crimes; continuing to launch the 3 No's Campaign in drug prevention, promoting propaganda work, eliminating complicated drug hotspots; promoting the responsibility of each organization and individual in educating and rehabilitating people after drug rehabilitation to help them reintegrate into the community.

On this occasion, the Dien Chau Youth Union also launched the expansion of "Friends helping friends" groups and "Youth lighting up faith" clubs to raise awareness of drug prevention among teenagers...

At the launching ceremony, commune leaders signed a commitment to implement the contents of the fight against drugs.

After the launching ceremony, more than 1,000 cadres, soldiers, union members and young people participated in a parade on National Highway 1A; propagating to the people about the serious consequences of drugs and the responsibility of the whole people in drug prevention.
