Delegations give gifts to encourage forces on duty at Covid-19 epidemic control checkpoints

(Baonghean.vn) - On June 20, the Provincial Red Cross Society and leaders of Vinh City People's Committee visited and presented gifts to encourage forces on duty at Covid-19 epidemic control checkpoints and households in especially difficult circumstances in Vinh City.

Comrade Tran Ngoc Tu - Chairman of Vinh City People's Committeeand Vice Chairmen of Vinh City People's Committee, Tran Quang Lam and Le Sy Chien visited and encouraged the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control checkpoints at the city's gateways.

To implement Directive 16-TTg of the Prime Minister, Vinh city has established 13 checkpoints on main roads which are gateways to the city and a number of checkpoints on small roads.

At the Covid-19 epidemic control checkpoints, the leaders of the City People's Committee grasped the situation in the work of controlling passing vehicles. At the same time, they shared the difficulties and hardships of the forces on duty at the checkpoints in the harsh hot weather conditions and the extremely complicated developments of the epidemic.

Vinh City leaders hope that the forces will stick to their tasks to effectively implement Prime Minister's Directive 16 to strictly control people and vehicles entering and leaving the city. At the same time, they should note that the forces on duty must strictly follow the epidemic prevention regulations while on duty to avoid the spread of the disease.

On this occasion, delegations of Vinh City People's Committee presented gifts to officers, soldiers and forces on duty at the checkpoints.

It is expected that Vinh city will request to temporarily suspend the movement of workers from outside to the city and from inside the city to work outside after completing Covid-19 testing for the entire population.

*Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Societypresented 8 large sunshades to the checkpoints including: Vinh City Police, Hung Phuc Ward, Dong Vinh Ward and Thanh Chuong Ward to encourage and share the hardships with the forces on duty at the Covid-19 epidemic control checkpoints who are working in hot weather and complicated epidemic conditions.
On this occasion, the delegation also presented 42 gifts of mineral water, disinfectant water, medical masks and some necessary necessities... to households in difficult circumstances, disabled people, and homeless people in Vinh city (including 35 gifts from Dong Vinh ward and 7 gifts from Hung Phuc ward). The total value of the gifts was nearly 63 million VND.

In the near future, Nghe An Red Cross will continue to donate sunshades to checkpoints in Cua Lo, Dien Chau and Vinh city./.
