Scientists find way to kill coronavirus in seconds
This method can be used in air conditioning systems, air filtration, as well as ventilation and heating.

Scientists at Texas A&M University have found a way to kill the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in seconds using high temperatures, which could lead to new ways to prevent the pathogen from spreading over long distances. The scientists' conclusions were published in a press release on the Phys.org news site.

The experts created a test device that consists of a piece of stainless steel pipe through which a solution containing the coronavirus flows. The pipe is heated to a high temperature. In this case, the virus is only exposed to heat for a few seconds.
Revealing how to kill coronavirus
If the solution is heated to near 72oC for 0.5 seconds, the virus titer decreases 100 thousand times. This condition is enough to neutralize the virus and prevent its transmission to humans. This method can be used in air conditioning, air filtration, as well as ventilation and heating systems.
The method could be used to inactivate other airborne viruses, such as influenza. Scientists believe that the heat-inactivation method could be widely used for many different purposes./.
