(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with the situation of young people flocking to the reed field in the middle of Lam River in unsafe conditions, Thanh Van commune, Thanh Chuong district has completely banned people from rowing boats to take tourists to the reed field.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ngan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Van Commune, Thanh Chuong District said that recently, the reed field in this commune has attracted a number of people to visit and take photos, especially on weekends.

Because the reed field is located in the middle of the Lam River, with two deep, fast-flowing branches on both sides, to get to the reed field one must travel by boat. Some people use small boats to go to work on the field every day to transport passengers, posing a high risk of drowning.

Faced with the reality of young people, especially students, flocking to the reed fields, while travel conditions are not safe, to avoid unfortunate incidents, local authorities have completely banned rowing boats to transport passengers to the reed fields.

Through investigation, it is known that at the river wharf opposite this reed field, there have been many serious drowning incidents in the past, especially during a trip to the reed field for production, a boat capsized, causing the drowning of 13 people at the same time.
