(Baonghean.vn) - With no water for daily use, officials of the border commune of Muong Tip, Ky Son district (Nghe An) did not mind the hardships and difficulties, "braving the sun" to pull pipes to bring water from the stream to the villagers for use.

During the dry season, up to half of the population of the border commune of Muong Tip, in the remote district of Ky Son, is always short of water for daily use because many public water works are damaged.

To partially solve the domestic water problem for Ta Do villagers, schools and the commune People's Committee, these days Muong Tip commune mobilized all local officials to pull water pipes from the stream.

Mr. Ha Ba Thai - Chairman of Muong Tip Commune People's Committee said: The commune allocated more than 40 million VND from the budget to buy 1,150 m of water pipes and build 3 water tanks at the Commune People's Committee and Vang Ngo Primary School to get water from Huoi Khoi stream for daily use. On June 4, water arrived at the Commune People's Committee headquarters, and it is expected that on June 5, water will reach Vang Ngo Primary School.

"During these two days, despite the hot weather reaching 40 degrees Celsius, the commune still mobilized all male staff to pull a 1km pipeline from the headquarters to the stream to bring water back soon. Otherwise, during the upcoming peak hot days, the commune headquarters area, hundreds of students at the elementary school and the local people will have a hard time because there is no water for daily use" - Mr. Thai shared.

It is known that the State has invested in building 9 community water works for 9 villages in Muong Tip commune, but up to now, 5 works have been damaged, causing people in 5 villages, Ta Do, Xop Phe, Xop Tip, Vang Phao and Na My, to have no water for daily use.

Ky Son district has received investment from the State to build 173 self-flowing community water works. According to the data of the district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, up to now, 26 of them have degraded, are ineffective, and lack water, 142 works are operating averagely, and only 6 works are sustainable.
