Need to strengthen coordination in performing defense tasks

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 6, the Steering Committee for building safe and combat-ready communes, wards, towns and clusters held a conference to review the coordination work in implementing tasks in 2016 and sign the coordination program for 2017. Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee chaired.

Attending the conference were representatives of the leaders of Military Region 4. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council; Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors and organizations.

Overview of the conference.

In 2016, departments, branches, sectors and organizations actively coordinated to implement military and defense tasks according to signed contents in a synchronous and unified manner from the province to the grassroots level and achieved high efficiency; military recruitment work was paid attention to by the Party Committee and the government, led and directed to be implemented effectively, achieving the set targets; the national defense posture associated with the people's security posture in the defense area became increasingly solid; social policies and military rear areas were responded to by departments, branches and organizations with many practical activities; propaganda, education and ideological orientation work were promoted, achieving high efficiency.

Lieutenant Colonel Thai Duc Hanh - Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command reported on the results of the 2017 coordination program and the direction and tasks for 2017.

Based on the results achieved in 2016, the goals and tasks for 2017 are to continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress, directives and orders on military and defense work in 2016, promote the combined strength, continue to build and consolidate the all-people national defense associated with the people's security posture, and build an increasingly solid defense zone.

At the conference, representatives of provincial leaders, leaders of departments, branches, sectors and mass organizations attended to discuss and draw lessons and propose solutions to effectively carry out the task of building a base for ATLC - SSCĐ. Notable contents include: the development of young party members in hamlets, villages, religious areas and special areas has not been really effective; it is necessary to resolutely develop party members in areas at risk of losing party cells and members; the political system of some bases is still weak and needs to be promptly rectified; there needs to be strong solutions to prevent the risk of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" among cadres, party members and people...

Comrade Nguyen Van Thong affirmed: "The key to the coordination program is to clarify the relationship between economic development and national defense and security. From there, the task of building a new ATLC - SSCĐ facility will truly achieve sustainable effectiveness.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong: "It is necessary to pay attention to building a safe and combat-ready cluster in the business sector; all levels, sectors and organizations are aware of their responsibilities, give strong direction in each field; strictly and promptly remind and handle cadres who do not complete their tasks well...".

In his concluding remarks at the conference, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh highly appreciated the results achieved in 2016, saying that this was the basis for the province to successfully complete important socio-economic targets, ensuring national defense and security tasks.

The Provincial Party Secretary also noted: It is still necessary to frankly acknowledge the reality that, currently, the political system at some bases is still weak in capacity, limited in the ability to handle sensitive situations, especially in the work of handling complaints; some bases have not really made information about socio-economics transparent, personnel work sometimes, in some places lacks democracy... Therefore, in the coming time, it is necessary to resolutely and thoroughly handle weak individuals and grassroots political systems in order to complete the goal of building a real and effective ATLC - SSCĐ base.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh delivered a concluding speech at the conference.

Regarding the goals and tasks in 2017, he requested: The Steering Committee needs to specifically identify the contents of propaganda and education on military and defense tasks to implement among cadres, party members, civil servants, union members and people of all walks of life; Continue to perform well the tasks of military recruitment, enrollment, building defense zones, safe clusters, combat readiness and well implementing military rear policies; Strengthen synchronous coordination in leadership and direction of military and defense tasks, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

Units signed a program of coordination to build facilities in communes, wards, towns, and ATLC - SSCD clusters in 2017.

At the Conference, the Provincial Military Command, the Fatherland Front and departments, branches, organizations, and press agencies of the province signed the 2017 coordination program.
