(Baonghean.vn) - The largest fishing port in Dien Chau district - Lach Van is heavily polluted, with a strong stench and garbage surrounding it, affecting people's lives.

Lach Van is the largest fishing port in Dien Chau district, one of the busiest fishing ports in Nghe An, where 447 boats from Dien Ngoc commune and hundreds of fishing boats from neighboring localities anchor. However, this fishing port is currently seriously polluted, especially when boats return to port.
According to the reporter's records at noon on August 22, all kinds of garbage at the fishing port appeared everywhere, especially in the area on both sides of the fishing port's wings. People in Dien Ngoc commune said: the amount of garbage was too much, and had not been collected for a long time, causing a foul smell, clogging the drainage pipes. Although it was collected, after a few days, the garbage overflowed again.
The water at the port is black and stinky, making everyone "shudder".
It is worth mentioning that people bring seafood down to wash directly into this polluted water.
It is known that each ship entering the port must pay a fee of 20,000 VND/time, which includes the environmental treatment fee. In the photo: Plastic bags containing seafood are scattered all over the walkway.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Dien Ngoc Commune People's Committee said: The problem of pollution at Lach Van port has been reported many times by the people to the government. We have repeatedly requested the fishing port management board to collect garbage, but the pollution still occurs frequently. In the photo: Some damaged boats are not treated and decomposed.
Mr. Ngo Xuan Thuy - Head of Lach Van Port Management Board said: For the main port area, the unit assigns a force to clean every day. For the area on both sides of the wings and the edge of the port, due to the large amount of waste from the Bung River pouring in every day, it is often overloaded, although we collect it but still cannot keep up.
