Nghe An police arrest wanted suspect after 28 years on the run

In 1992, Dao Huu Tuong escaped while serving a 7-year prison sentence inProvincial Police Detention CenterNghe An, for the crime of "Destroying important works related to national security".

Before serving his prison sentence, in 1987, Dao Huu Tuong stole power lines in Nghi Lien commune, Nghi Loc district, and was later arrested and sentenced to 7 years in prison. In 1992, after escaping from prison, Tuong took a bus to the South to hide and reside in M'Drak district, Dak Lak province.

During his escape, Dao Huu Tuong changed his middle name and year of birth to Dao Manh Tuong (born in 1961). With this change, Tuong applied to work as a coffee plantation worker in Dak Lak province. Here, Tuong got married and had a daughter. After 28 years of hiding, the subject still remembers the days of committing crimes and escaping from detention, showing great remorse and repentance.
