Police open fire on armed drug gang at border

A group of 10 people were transporting heroin from the border to the mainland for consumption when they were discovered and used guns to attack the police force.

During the peak period of the crackdown on drug crimes, at 10 p.m. on August 20, the Son La Provincial Police special task force on duty in Pa Cop village, Van Ho commune, Van Ho district, Son La province discovered a group of more than 10 armed individuals illegally transporting drugs from the border into the interior.

Guns and shells seized at the scene

When discovering the police force, the subjects recklessly used military guns to attack, forcing the special forces to open fire to suppress them.

After the clash, the group fled towards the border. At the scene, the police seized a Sam Pa Lech gun, two backpacks containing 20 heroin bricks, many AK shells, Sam Pa Lech bullets and some other related evidence.
