Police arrest suspect who stabbed two knights to death in Saigon

Dozens of Ho Chi Minh City Police detectives surrounded a house on Pham Van Chieu Street (Ward 9, Go Vap District) late on May 14, arresting a suspect in a SH motorbike theft gang that stabbed two knights to death on Cach Mang Thang 8 Street, District 3.

Not long before, another suspect was also arrested.

Immediately after the particularly serious murder, nearly a hundred criminal investigators from Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with District 3 Police to extract all camera footage from the surrounding streets. The authorities also worked with a series of related suspects to hunt down the perpetrator.

At around 8:00 p.m. on May 13, five street knights from Tan Binh district, led by Mr. Tran Van Hoang, followed two young men riding an Exciter through many streets in districts 3 and 10.

Arriving at a fashion store on Cach Mang Thang 8 Street (District 3), a man approached Mr. Phuong's SH parked in front of the store, broke the lock and stole it. When he turned the SH around to run away, the group of knights shouted"Robbery, robbery" then rushed to arrest.

The thief pulled out a knife to fight back, stabbing the group of knights. After committing the crime, they got into a car and fled the scene. The victims were taken to the emergency room by local people, but the two knights, Nguyen Hoang Nam (29 years old, from Dong Nai) and Nguyen Van Thoi (42 years old, from Binh Dinh), died.

Mr. Hoang and two others were seriously injured and are now out of danger.
