(Baonghean.vn) - As a subject with a criminal record of "prostitution brokerage" and a wide network of relationships, Nhung invited her lover to invest in business, buying drugs from Laos to Vietnam for consumption.

The couple invested in business

Since the beginning of 2019, through field work, detectives of Thai Hoa town police discovered a large drug trafficking and illegal drug ring from Laos to Quy Chau as a transit point and then smuggled it to other provinces and cities for consumption... Project 419 M was established, mobilizing experienced detectives, determined to quickly destroy this drug ring.

After establishing the project, in addition to verifying and screening suspects, detectives and investigators also increased surveillance of the area to promptly grasp the methods and tricks of the subjects' operations.

After verification and on the basis of collecting documents and evidence, the Investigation Committee identified the two main subjects in the ring as Lu Van Hoi (born in 1990), residing in Tong 1 village, Chau Phong commune, Quy Chau district and Lo Thi Nhung (born in 1983), residing in Pieng Diem village, Chau Phong commune, Quy Chau district.

Having been convicted of “prostitution brokerage” in 2012, Nhung and her lover Hoi pooled their money to buy “goods” from Laos in large quantities. Nhung used her existing relationships to connect with prominent Laotian figures and then went with Hoi to get the goods and trade in Vietnam.

With their experience, the couple always chooses a time late at night with few people, a location in a deep, remote forest or a dangerous mountain to conduct the transaction.

Solve the case

The biggest difficulty for the Task Force at this time is choosing the right time to solve the case and catch the subjects in the act. Because, with their cunning and scheming nature, the subjects often calculate very carefully and in detail. The subjects hide the drugs in a marked location. After reconnaissance, if they feel safe and do not detect any "movement", they will return to get the "goods" and continue.

On April 14, 2019, the Task Force received information that the Lo Thi Nhung couple was preparing to conduct a large drug transaction with a partner. Realizing that the opportunity to solve the case had come, the Task Force immediately held a meeting, agreed on the fight plans, and determined to eradicate this drug ring.

The working groups were divided into many groups stretching from Quy Chau district and key areas in Thai Hoa district. For nearly 2 days, the members persistently performed their duties, not taking their eyes off the areas assigned by the leaders of the Task Force...

Through monitoring the movement, at about 11:40 p.m. on April 16, two subjects carrying black bags with many suspicious signs appeared in Dong Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town. Assuming that they were the Lo Thi Nhung couple preparing to trade drugs, the Task Force decided to crack the case. Detectives simultaneously rushed to control and arrest the subjects. Checking the bags the subjects carried, they seized 2kg of crystal meth and 5,000 synthetic drug pills.

At the investigation agency, the two subjects gave evasive statements and passed the blame to each other. But after a night of fierce fighting, the two subjects bowed their heads and admitted their guilt and confessed that they took a taxi from Quy Chau district to Thai Hoa town to trade drugs.

The case is currently under further investigation.
