Update on the morning of April 14: No new infections, one of the 6 most severe patients has recovered and been discharged from the hospital
Early this morning, April 14, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Health, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Vietnam temporarily stopped at 265 cases.
Specifically, the total number of cases: 265 cases, of which 160 people from abroad accounted for 60.4%; 105 people infected in the community accounted for 39.6%.
Number of people in quarantine: Total number of people in close contact and entering from epidemic areas being monitored for health (quarantined): 75,291, of which: Concentrated quarantine at hospitals: 713; Concentrated quarantine at other facilities: 15,564; Quarantined at home, place of residence: 59,014.
Last night, a British patient with severe Covid-19 (one of the 6 most severe Covid-19 patients in Vietnam) recovered and was discharged from the hospital. The patient is 74 years old, and came to Vietnam on March 2nd with his wife on flight VN0054.
According to information from the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, on March 6, this patient was quarantined and monitored in Quang Ninh. The patient was hospitalized from March 8 to March 13. After testing positive, both husband and wife were transferred to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases. On March 22, the patient's difficulty breathing increased and he was given oxygen support.
On March 27, the patient's condition worsened, with severe respiratory failure and no response to oxygen therapy. He had to be transferred to the intensive care unit for intubation and mechanical ventilation.
The patient tested negative twice on April 8 and April 10. His health condition is currently stable, without fever. Early this morning, April 14, the patient left for the UK.
Currently, Vietnam still has 3 other serious cases.
- Patient 161 had a tracheostomy as advised by the National Consultation.
- Patient 20, the paternal uncle of patient 17, is still in critical condition but is improving.
- Patient 91 is a British pilot, still in critical condition, the latest X-ray shows more severe liver damage, blood clotting disorder has been temporarily stabilized.
