The spillway in Que Phong was submerged in water due to heavy rain.
From the night of June 5 to the morning of June 6, Que Phong district experienced heavy to very heavy rain. In particular, in Hanh Dich commune, close to the border, water from upstream rivers and streams poured down, causing bridges to overflow and temporary bridges to be eroded and submerged.
The incident caused the road leading to Hanh Dich commune to be covered with sand and red mud, and some places such as Long Tien temporary bridge and Cong village spillway were deeply flooded. The amount of sand and red mud was so large that many vehicles had difficulty traveling. Furthermore, this route was in the process of being upgraded and repaired, so the amount of mud and mud stretched for dozens of kilometers, making it impossible for people to travel.

According to local people, this is not the first time heavy rain has caused damage. Previously, there were flooding and rising river water levels causing landslides on the embankment, cutting off traffic, and rocks collapsing houses.
Immediately after the incident, the local authorities and functional agencies mobilized forces and means to quickly fix the problem so that people and vehicles could travel as soon as possible.

Local authorities advise people to pay attention when participating in traffic on roads, especially steep mountain passes. In particular, people living in residential areas near rivers, streams, and on steep slopes need to closely monitor weather developments, as well as changes in the state of the land where they live, in order to promptly move to a safe place before landslides occur.
