Parking fee increase appears at Vinh walking street

(Baonghean.vn) - Although the listed parking fee is 3,000 VND/time for motorbikes and 10,000 VND/time for cars, some parking lot staff in the Ho Chi Minh Square area charged higher fees during the night of the walking street's operation, making people angry.

After receiving information from Nghe An Newspaper, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument investigated the incident.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bich - Deputy of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument said: "The unit quickly verified and the result is that the information posted by Nghe An Newspaper is accurate. On the evening of April 15, 2022, at parking lot No. 02 of Ho Chi Minh Square and Uncle Ho Monument (on Truong Thi Street), there was a phenomenon of 2 parking attendants arbitrarily increasing parking prices in violation of regulations, including LTT (1977), residing in Hung Dung Ward and TNT (1981), residing in Hung Nguyen Town".

This morning (April 18), the board's leaders held an expanded meeting to discuss measures to handle violators and rectify vehicle parking activities at parking lots.

During the meeting, the unit determined that this was a clear violation that affected the image of the Square Management Board as well as the image of the walking street organizers. Therefore, the meeting agreed to terminate the contract on April 18, 2022 for the two violating individuals. At the same time, the unit criticized the individuals and collectives in the management that led to the increase in parking fees.

After the meeting, the leaders of the department and unit held a meeting with the individuals who were in charge of parking to inform them of the violations of the individuals at parking lot No. 02 with the form of handling being contract liquidation. At the same time, they reminded and disciplined the remaining individuals at the 2 parking lots to strictly implement the contents signed in the contract, not to violate the regulations stated in the contract. After the unit notified, the violating individuals admitted their mistakes and agreed to receive the form of handling from the unit.
