Doctor To Thi Hong - Head of Nghia Binh commune health station warns: Children often choke on foreign objects.due to the habit of holding or picking up objects and putting them in the mouth, this is very dangerous, even affecting life if not discovered and given timely emergency care by the family. Therefore, adults need to pay special attention to observing and looking after children.
If a child is choking on a foreign object, family members need to immediately provide first aid by pressing on the chest or epigastric region, or patting the child on the back to create pressure to expel the foreign object, then take the child to the emergency room. First aid must be done quickly, within 5-10 minutes. If the time is longer than that, it will be difficult to save the child, or if it can be saved, it will leave serious consequences.
