Buddha Bar Employee's Sister Has Covid-19, Vietnam Has 153 Cases
At 6:00 p.m. on March 26, the Ministry of Health announced 5 more cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases in Vietnam to 153.
As of 6 p.m. this afternoon, Vietnam recorded 5 new cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases in Vietnam to 153.
2 of these 5 patients are people who entered Vietnam from abroad between March 21 and March 23, 2020 and were quarantined immediately after entry.
The remaining 3 cases were transmitted from patients who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
CASE 149 (BN149):Male patient, 40 years old, Vietnamese nationality, address in Long Bien, Hanoi. The patient is a freelance worker in Hessen State - Federal Republic of Germany. On March 23, 2020, the patient arrived at Van Don Airport on Vietnam Airlines flight VN36, seat number 55C (with his mother, 68 years old, sitting in seat 55A). Upon entry, the patient had no fever, no cough, no pneumonia.
At the quarantine area of Quang Ninh Military School, the patient shared a room with 02 other people who were also on this flight. Test results from the Quang Ninh Center for Disease Control on March 25 confirmed that the patient was positive for SARS-CoV-2, the remaining 207 passengers were negative. The patient, his mother and 2 people in the same room were transferred to Hospital No. 2 of Ha Long City for treatment and health monitoring.
CASE 150 (BN150):Male patient, Vietnamese nationality, 55 years old, residing in Tan Dinh ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. On March 13, 2020, the patient and his wife returned to Vietnam from the United States, transiting in Taiwan - China on EVA Air flight number BR395, seat numbers 2D, 2K and entered the country at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
After entering the country, the patient returned home and from March 14-18, 2020, the patient went to many places and came into contact with many people: on March 14, a party at home (4 people attended), on March 15, a Bun Ganh restaurant (Han Thuyen Street), on March 16, a meeting with Transimex Company (24 people) and a party at Hoa Vien Tri Ky on the same day, on March 18, he met friends in Nha Be District and went to Family Medical (No. 34, Le Duan) for examination. He was advised to be examined at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases and was transferred to quarantine at the Can Gio Covid-19 Treatment Hospital.
On March 23, the patient had a fever, cough, sore throat and was tested. The patient is currently being isolated and treated at the Can Gio Covid-19 Treatment Hospital.

CASE 151 (BN151):Female patient, Brazilian nationality, 45 years old, residing in Thao Dien ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City. The patient works at Gia Dinh Shoe Company Limited, which has 2 branches in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai and An Phu Dong ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City.
The patient is a colleague, in close contact with patient 124. Every day, the patient goes to work with patient 124 in a car (with a private driver), shares the same schedule to 2 company branches and buys coffee at Starbucks (District 2). In addition, the patient went to several places: a restaurant (Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai) on March 13, An Phu supermarket on March 16, Hue Phong factory (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) on March 19.
On March 23, the patient was identified as a close contact of Patient 124 and was tested and transferred to centralized quarantine at Area C - Military Academy, Cu Chi District. This is also where the driver is being quarantined.
CASE 152 (BN152):Female patient, Vietnamese nationality, 27 years old, residing in Tay Thanh ward, Tan Phu district, Ho Chi Minh City. The patient is the older sister living in the same house with patient 127 (male employee of Buddha Bar). The patient works at Formica Company - 3rd floor, building 414 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, ward 5, district 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
Every day, the patient went to work during office hours and from March 10-14, the patient had close contact with 4 colleagues, and on March 19, he had contact with a partner at the company. From March 15-18, the patient went to several places and had contact with several people. On March 15, he went to his parents' house in Tan Binh District. On March 17, he had lunch with 2 friends at Sen Vegetarian Restaurant (District 1). On March 18, he had close contact with a delivery person.
On March 20, upon learning that Buddha Bar - where his younger brother worked - had a Covid-19 case, the patient stopped working, self-isolated at home and was approached and monitored by the Ward Health Station. On March 23, the patient was sampled and transferred to centralized isolation at Can Gio Covid-19 Treatment Hospital. The company where the patient worked temporarily suspended operations.
CASE 153 (BN153):Female patient, Vietnamese nationality, 60 years old, residing in Hai Chau district, Da Nang city. No medical history recorded. The patient went to Australia to visit relatives and returned to Vietnam on March 21, 2020 on Vietnam Airlines flight number VN772, entering at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
After entering the country, the patient was transferred to a centralized quarantine area at the Ho Chi Minh City National University dormitory, sharing a room with case number 143 and two other people.
On March 23, after confirming case 143 had Covid-19, the patient and two roommates were transferred to Cu Chi Field Hospital for isolation, monitoring and sample collection.
