Vietnam Writers Association in Nghe An elects new Executive Committee

Attending the congress, on behalf of the Vietnam Writers Association, there were poet Tran Dang Khoa - Vice President of the Association; writer Duc Ban - President of the Writers Association of the North Central provinces; Writers Association of Thai Binh and Quang Ninh provinces.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Ho Mau Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, local Literature and Arts associations and members of the association.

The Vietnam Writers Association in Nghe An was established on July 10, 2000, with the aim of gathering a team of writers to form the core of the local literary creation movement. After two congresses, the association now has 14 members, truly becoming the nucleus of the creative movement in Nghe An.

At the congress, delegates were approved the report on the activities of the Association during the 2010-2018 term. Over the past 8 years, the Association has organized many field trips for writers to accumulate life experiences. At the same time, it has organized exchanges and meetings with local colleagues, introduced works, encouraged creativity...

Thanks to that, many valuable literary works were born, especially some articles imbued with the vibrant life of Nghe An, contributing to the development of literature in the whole country. Many writers have invested time, effort and passion in writing poems, novels, short stories and essays, winning prestigious awards from the Vietnam Writers Association and the Ho Xuan Huong Award (Provincial Literature and Arts Association).

Regarding the direction and tasks of the Vietnam Writers Association in Nghe An for the 2018-2020 term, the congress determined that it is to uphold political mettle and professional ethics, play a core role and be the key creative force of Nghe An literature. Continue to contribute talent and enthusiasm, strive to produce many works of high ideological and artistic value.

On behalf of the leadership of the Vietnam Writers Association, poet Tran Dang Khoa acknowledged the contributions of the association in the past term and hoped that in the next term, the Vietnam Writers Association in Nghe An would promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and accompany the people's lives. From there, valuable works would be created, clearly expressing the qualities of the people of Nghe An - the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to the development of literature and the renovation process.

As a result, the Congress of the Vietnam Writers Association in Nghe An elected a new Executive Committee of 3 comrades with poet Nguyen Van Hung as Chairman.
