The 6 p.m. news on February 1 of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said that there were 31 new cases of COVID-19, including 30 community cases recorded in Hanoi, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh and Binh Duong, Gia Lai; 01 imported case was immediately quarantined.
- As of 6:00 p.m. on February 1: Vietnam has a total of 963 COVID-19 cases due to domestic infection, of which the number of new cases from January 27 to present: 270 cases.

- From 6am to 6pm on February 1: 31 new cases, including 1 imported case that was quarantined immediately.
Information on new cases: (BN1820-1850): 30 community cases (30) in Hai Duong (17), Quang Ninh (5), Hanoi (4), Gia Lai (2), Bac Giang (1), Binh Duong (1) and 1 imported case quarantined immediately in Ho Chi Minh City. Specifically:
- Hanoi City recorded 04 cases (BN1823-BN1826): Of which 02 cases (BN1823, BN1824) have permanent residence in Me Linh district, Hanoi City; 01 case (BN1825) has an address in Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi; BN1826 has an address in Dong Anh district, Hanoi City. Epidemiological information is being further investigated.
- Quang Ninh province recorded 05 patients (BN1821-BN1822, BN1847-BN1849): 2 F1 BN1553, related to the outbreak at Van Don airport, Quang Ninh; 2 F1 BN1795, related to the outbreak in Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province and 1 F1 BN1701, related to the outbreak at POYUN Company, Hai Duong province.
- Binh Duong province recorded 01 case BN1843, female 19 years old, with address in An Binh commune, Phu Giao district, Binh Duong province, had close contact with BN1644.
- Hai Duong province recorded 17 new cases (BN1827-BN1842, BN1844): Of which 16 cases (BN1827-BN1842) were identified from samples previously collected at the POYUN Company outbreak, Hai Duong province and 01 case (BN1844) related to the outbreak in Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province.
- Gia Lai province recorded 02 new cases (BN1845-BN1846): Female patient, 31 years old and male patient, 38 years old, related to the outbreak in Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province. Epidemiological information is being further investigated.
- Ho Chi Minh City recorded 1 case of quarantine after entry (Patient 1850): Male patient, 24 years old, expert, South African nationality.
On January 17, 2021, the above patient entered Tan Son Nhat airport from the UAE on flight QR970, was immediately quarantined, and had samples taken for testing in Ho Chi Minh City. The test result on January 31, 2021, the patient tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus. The patient is currently quarantined and treated at Cu Chi Field Hospital.
