However, people quickly recovered and stabilized their lives, and with the attention of authorities at all levels and philanthropists, they will certainly have a warm and prosperous Tet.”

As for Mr. Hung, his daughter sent him sticky rice and dong leaves from Tuong Duong, he raised chickens, and with the money saved to buy candy, the family is ready to welcome a happy and fulfilling Tet. In a more difficult situation than Mr. Hung's family, Mr. Vi Van Tien in Tan Ngoc village said that last year, the harsh weather caused a decrease in income from all crops.

In the last months of the year, he focused on raising chickens and taking care of the tea garden to “save” the situation. Thanks to that, the family had some money to buy food, groceries and supplies for Tet, not too much but certainly enough to be happy.

From Tan Ngoc village, we continued up to Tan Tien village and witnessed the joy of the poor when receiving rice supported by the State on the occasion of welcoming the New Year.Lunar New Year of the OxHere, Ngoc Lam commune officials and the Village Management Board are organizing distribution, and especially poor households have gathered in large numbers.

Having just received his family's rice ration, Mr. Lu Van Cong (born in 1956) shared: "So I no longer have to worry about not having enough food during Tet, with this 60 kg of rice I can eat for a whole month. In the near future, I will also receive subsidies and gifts, I will buy some more things to celebrate Tet."

Mr. Cong currently lives with his daughter and two grandchildren. He is old and weak, has mental problems, his daughter does not have a stable job, and his income is unstable, so the family is in great difficulty. On this occasion, each person was supported with 15 kg of rice, Mr. Lu Van Cong's family received a total of 60 kg, contributing to a "warm Tet".

In Tan Tien village, besides Mr. Lu Van Cong, there are also a number of other households.especially difficultreceive rice support from the State during Tet. A typical example is Mr. Luong Van Ky, who is in poor health, his wife is disabled, and his children are married but also in difficult circumstances. Mr. Vi Van Duong is also in poor health, his wife just broke her arm and is no longer able to work, and his children work far away and have no means to support their parents. Mr. Vi Van Nguyen, whose wife just passed away, is living as a single father, with two children growing up, and he is the only one who has to shoulder the burden, so he cannot tell all the hardships...

“The village has 287 households, including 122 poor households, many households in special difficulties are receiving rice support from the State during Tet. The village management board is also mobilizing people to donate money, rice, gifts, and cakes to support and encourage the elderly, the lonely, and the sick to celebrate a warm and happy Tet together.”

Full of Spring love

These days, the Management Boards of Ma, Tan Lam, Tan Ngoc, Tan Sang and Tan Hop villages are also distributing rice to extremely disadvantaged households. According to Ms. Lo Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngoc Lam commune, the commune has received nearly 20 tons of rice to support the poor in the area to celebrate the Lunar New Year and is distributing it directly to the families. On average, each person in an extremely disadvantaged family receives 15 kg of rice, enough to warm their hearts during the happy days of Tet and Spring.

The whole Ngoc Lam commune currently has nearly 1,470 households, of which the poverty rate accounts for about 36% (576 households). Understanding the difficulties, hardships and deprivation of people in the resettlement areaBan Ve Hydropower Plant, authorities at all levels and the social community have joined hands to care, encourage and take practical actions to help.

Especially on the occasion of Lunar New Year, many organizations, units and volunteer groups have contacted to organize spring activities and give Tet gifts. A typical example is the program "Warm spring in the border" organized by Nghe An Provincial Police in coordination with Education and Times Newspaper with cultural exchange activities, giving gifts to poor households and poor students in the area to celebrate the traditional Tet of the nation.

Groupstudent volunteerThe National Economics University (Hanoi) has just visited Ngoc Lam commune to give 90 gifts to poor students who have overcome difficulties and 65 Tet gifts to families in especially difficult circumstances.

At the same time, cultural and artistic exchanges and environmental sanitation were organized, bringing a joyful and exciting atmosphere. The working group of the Ministry of National Defense also presented 200 Tet gifts to poor households and policy families. Currently, many organizations and volunteer groups have connected to organize the "Spring of Love" program, giving gifts to help Ngoc Lam people celebrate Tet happily...
