Provincial Chairman directs to completely clear the land of areas under Vinh University planning

(Baonghean.vn) - At the meeting with the school, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong assigned the Vinh City People's Committee to quickly complete the land acquisition for Bach Lieu Street, and can enforce it if necessary.

On the morning of June 14, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and Vinh University had a meeting to resolve problems related to land acquisition and clearance at some locations within the school's planning.

At Vinh University Campus 1 (located on Le Duan Street, Vinh City), the land acquisition and clearance work to close the old Bach Lieu Street and open the way to the new Bach Lieu Street has not been completed. A total of 83 households need to be relocated, and up to now, 4 households have not been relocated because they have not yet agreed on the compensation area with the people.

Due to problems with land acquisition and clearance here, the project to expand the first campus of Vinh University is behind schedule. The school recommends that the province issue specific instructions to completely resolve the backlog problem that has lasted for many years.

In addition, Vinh University proposed that the province allow the clearance of about 27 hectares of land to the east of the school's second campus, in Nghi Loc and Nghi An areas, to expand the school's scale and complete the infrastructure that campus 1 lacks due to land area limitations.

After the discussion session between departments and branches and listening to the school's opinions, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong concluded: Assign Vinh City People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with the school and related branches to completely resolve the problems related to site clearance at facility 1.

Specifically, review the records of 4 households in the alley of Bach Lieu Street and have a written response to the public petition of the people, proceed with compensation and enforce land acquisition if necessary. The deadline is August 30, 2017. After completing the land acquisition, the school is responsible for completing the new Bach Lieu Street in the first quarter of 2018.

The province also agreed to the proposal to clear more land area to the east of the school's second campus and assigned the local government and departments to coordinate with the school to develop a specific plan. It is expected that in 2017, the land clearance for the rice fields in this area will be completed and the people will be resettled in the first quarter of 2018.
