Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspects election preparation work in Nam Dan district

Accompanying the delegation were: Hoang Viet Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; Le Dinh Ly - Director of the Department of Home Affairs; leaders of the Department of Health, Provincial Police, and the Office of the Provincial People's Committee.

Before working with the Nam Dan District Election Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation inspected voting area No. 1 at the Sen 2 hamlet cultural house, voting area No. 2 at the Lien Hong hamlet cultural house and worked with the Kim Lien Commune Election Committee (Nam Dan).

After the inspection, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the preparation work for the election of Kim Lien commune. At the same time, he requested the Commune Election Committee to learn from some recent mistakes, organize the 3rd Consultation Conference well, carefully review the list of candidates and voters; strengthen training so that the members of the Election Committee are really proficient, ensure good security and order for the election to take place successfully.

To carry out the steps of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, Nam Dan district has established organizations in charge of the election. In addition, it has established the Propaganda Subcommittee; the Security and Order Subcommittee; the Complaints and Denunciations Settlement Subcommittee and the Working Group for the Election Committee.

Based on the criteria for People's Council delegates, structure, composition, and number of candidates, on March 17, 2021, after the 2nd Consultation Conference, the District Fatherland Front Committee agreed to establish a preliminary list of 64 candidates for the District People's Council delegates, of whom 35 were elected. The Fatherland Front Committees of communes and towns agreed to establish a preliminary list of 911 candidates for the People's Council delegates of communes and towns, of whom 496 were elected.

Currently, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee at the commune and town levels is coordinating with the People's Committees at the same level to organize a conference to collect opinions and trust from voters in the place of residence for candidates for People's Council deputies at all levels to ensure compliance with regulations. The third consultation conference is expected to be completed before April 16, 2021.

The District Election Commission has directed the People's Committees of communes and towns to review and compile voter lists for each voting area. Up to now, the communes and towns have completed the compilation and typing of voter lists.The total number of voters in the district up to now is 110,361 voters. Of which, the number of voters of the National Assembly and People's Councils at the provincial and district levels is 2,550 voters.

The District Election Committee has directed communes and towns to print voter lists to post at polling stations and at commune and town People's Committee offices and announce on the public broadcasting system for people to follow.

After listening to the opinions of the members of the inspection team, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung highly appreciated the preparation work and shared the difficulties and problems in the district and requested the District People's Committee to pay attention to thoroughly handling them.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the District Election Committee to organize the 3rd Consultation Conference well, ensuring the correct structure, composition, number and standards. To do so, the district must carefully review the candidates' profiles and do ideological work for those not on the list.

In addition, the district People's Committee needs to continue reviewing and finalizing the voter list, especially propagating and mobilizing voters in special areas to fully participate in the election. Continue to pay attention to training work, so that members of the 2-level People's Committees are truly proficient and have a firm grasp of their tasks.

Considering that there is not much time left until the election day, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Election Committee of Nam Dan district to strengthen propaganda work so that people are fully aware of the significance of the election and ensure that voters participate in voting fully. At the same time, grasp the ideology, anticipate complicated situations and propose timely solutions, ensure security and order, and prevent the Covid-19 epidemic. In particular, the election coincides with the 131st birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, so the district needs to carefully calculate so that these two activities take place successfully and meaningfully.
