Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh visited and extended New Year greetings in Anh Son district

On the afternoon of January 16, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province visited and extended New Year greetings in Anh Son district.

Accompanying the delegation were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Dang Thanh Tung - Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thi Thom - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command and representatives of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the provincial Military Command, the provincial Police, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and the provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh and the delegation visited and presented gifts at Phuc Son commune, which has a 26.747 km long border with Laos, has 2 national landmarks, with a natural area of ​​about 150 km2, accounting for 1/4 of the area of ​​Anh Son district.

The whole commune has a population of 2,549 households, with 9,124 people including Kinh and Thai people living in 17 hamlets and villages, of which 4 are border villages adjacent to Phon Muong and Muong Cham villages, Xay Cham Pon district, Bolikhamxay province, Laos.

Phuc Son commune, to the north there is Lam river, to the southwest there is Giang river, Veu river flowing through, in the center of the commune cluster there is National Highway 7A with a length of about 4 km.

In 2024, the commune just celebrated its 70th anniversary of independence, but this is a land with a long history, formed in the early 11th century associated with the name Yen Phuc village.

Compared to other highland and border communes, Phuc Son commune today has a relatively comprehensive development. The total production value in 2024 reached nearly 413 billion VND, the average income per capita has reached 43.5 million VND/year.

In particular, the commune has focused on exploiting its strengths to develop agriculture and forestry in the direction of commodities, of which, there are 2 subjects and 3 products recognized as meeting OCOP standards, including pure honey and wild honey of ginger, moringa, and turmeric honey.

By the end of 2024, Phuc Son commune had achieved 13/19 new rural criteria and is aiming to reach the finish line in 2025, the last year of the 2020-2025 term, in order to create a solid foundation for building and developing the commune in the new term.

In the commune, there is Phuc Son Border Guard Station managing and protecting 26.747 km of border line, with 7 landmarks, adjacent to Phon Muong and Muong Cham villages, Xay Cham Pon district, Bolikhamxay province, Laos; there is Cao Veu - Thoong Phi La secondary border gate.

Exchanging with leaders, cadres, people, and armed forces stationed in the commune, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh informed about some socio-economic situations of the province in 2024 and from the beginning of the 2020-2025 term to present; at the same time, acknowledged, commended, and highly appreciated the results achieved by Phuc Son commune and the police, border guards, and military forces of the commune in 2024.

Discussing the context, situation and key tasks in 2025, especially focusing on timely implementation of solutions to accelerate, make breakthroughs, and strive to achieve the highest goals and targets of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025; preparing to organize Party congresses at all levels, term 2025-2030, towards the 20th Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Congress of the Party; implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus according to the direction of the Central Government, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized a number of key tasks for the Party Committee, the government of Phuc Son commune and the armed forces in the area.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the cadres and people of Phuc Son commune will regularly follow official information to propagate and raise awareness in order to create unity in implementing the above important tasks in 2025.

For Phuc Son commune, the head of the provincial People's Committee suggested actively building and consolidating the grassroots political system; building the great national unity bloc in the commune, especially in the border area, creating the foundation for building a strong defense area, building a solid people's border defense posture and a solid people's security posture.

At the same time, effectively implement programs and projects to invest in infrastructure construction, promote production development, promote internal resources, seek help and support from inside and outside the province to develop the economy, society, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, improve the lives of people in the commune, especially effectively implement 3 national target programs; at the same time, foster the friendly and cooperative relationship between villages on both sides of the Vietnam - Laos border.

Comrade Le Hong Vinh suggested that the Party Committee and the government of Phuc Son commune coordinate with Phuc Son Border Guard Station, the Police forces, and the Commune Military Command to proactively review and grasp the situation, create a healthy playground to take care of the people to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet in the warmest way, especially families in difficult circumstances and families with meritorious services to promptly visit and encourage them.

“There is nothing closer than our people visiting and encouraging each other to maintain the long-standing cultural traditions and rich identity of the people of Phuc Son,” the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee confided.

For the armed forces of Phuc Son commune, with increasingly high mission requirements, each officer and soldier must always maintain a strong political stance, moral qualities, promote a sense of responsibility, solidarity, intelligence, courage, overcome all difficulties, and excellently complete all tasks.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province emphasized the need to proactively coordinate with local forces to grasp, assess and forecast the situation correctly; promptly report and advise superiors, coordinate with local Party committees and authorities, and forces and people in border areas to organize management and firmly protect territorial sovereignty, borders, national security, ensure social order and safety; actively fight to prevent accidents and combat social evils.

On this occasion, comrade Le Hong Vinh presented 500 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund of the province to support livelihood models for the people of Anh Son district; presented Tet gifts to the District Military Command, Anh Son District Police, Phuc Son Border Guard Station; Commune Police, Phuc Son Commune Military Command; presented gifts to Mr. Bach Dinh Dung, in Cao Veu 3 village, Phuc Son commune, a prestigious person in the ethnic minority community.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh and the delegation visited Village 2, Phuc Son Commune to visit and present Tet gifts to Mr. Le Hong Loi, 63 years old, a 1/4 disabled veteran, and his family. He was injured in March 1986 while performing international duty in Cambodia.

After returning to his hometown after being discharged from the army, he got married and had 3 children. His family always followed the Party's policies and the State's laws, raised their children to adulthood, and actively participated in all activities and movements in the village and commune.

On the same afternoon, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh visited and offered flowers and incense to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery. Built in 1976 in Kim Nhan town, Anh Son district, close to National Highway 7 with an area of ​​nearly 7 hectares, the cemetery is the resting place of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and died in Laos.
