During the resistance war against the US, Truong Bon (My Son commune, Do Luong district) was a key traffic point on the strategic route to support the southern battlefield, and was also the place where the US enemy bombed and shelled fiercely.
Here, 1,240 cadres, soldiers, youth volunteers, militia and people sacrificed their lives. Notably, on October 31, 1968, 13 youth volunteers of Squad 2 - "Steel Squad" of Company 317, Team 65, Nghe An Youth Volunteers General Team heroically sacrificed their lives.

Offering a basket of fresh flowers and a stick of incense, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the delegation expressed their respect, admiration and deep gratitude to the sisters and brothers - the resilient and indomitable children who did not spare their blood and bones, dedicating their youth to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and his delegation visited and offered flowers and incense at the Do Luong District Martyrs' Cemetery. This is the resting place of more than 10,800 martyrs, including Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers, who heroically sacrificed their lives during the long resistance wars against foreign invaders to protect the Fatherland and to carry out international missions in Laos.

Next, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung visited and presented gifts to two families of policy beneficiaries and outstanding meritorious people in Do Luong district. They are the family of Mr. Le Cong Da (born in 1942, 23% disabled, residing in Hamlet 4, Thuong Son Commune) and the family of Mr. Ho Sy Nhiep (born in 1944, 45% disabled, residing in Hamlet 5, Thai Son Commune).
Mr. Ho Sy Nhiep (enlisted in March 1963, participated in the C Lower Laos battlefield, Quang Tri battlefield). He is currently suffering from stomach cancer, poor health, his wife has a stroke and is bedridden, the family's circumstances are very difficult.

His family has 7 children, 3 boys, 4 girls, 1 boy passed away from cancer, 1 girl passed away from mental illness, currently 2 boys, 3 girls are married but all work in agriculture, normal economic situation. He is currently receiving a subsidy of 2,343 million VND/month.
Mr. Le Cong Da (enlisted in February 1961, injured in 1966 on the Quang Tri battlefield). His wife passed away, his family is in difficult circumstances, he lives alone, his house is next to his son's house. His family has 4 married children, with normal economic circumstances. Mr. Da is currently receiving a monthly allowance of 1.196 million VND.

Kindly inquiring about the health and living conditions of those who have contributed to the revolution, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee wished them to take care of their health, continue to set good examples and be a strong spiritual support for their children and grandchildren. At the same time, he requested that the Party Committee and the government continue to do a good job of repaying gratitude, paying attention to and taking care of the lives of families with meritorious services and those who have contributed to the revolution./.
