Voters are not satisfied with the quality and price of domestic water!
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the opinion of Mr. Nguyen Gia Trung, a citizen of Quan Bau ward, Vinh city, after following the discussion on the content related to the quality and price of domestic water at the 9th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, on July 11.
I am very pleased to see some delegates of the Provincial People's Council bring up the issue of quality and cost of domestic water services for discussion and dissection at this Provincial People's Council meeting.

The reason we are happy is because for a long time, our people have been wondering and doubting the quality of domestic water. This is easy to see if you take the time to observe households in Vinh City. There are many households in Vinh City using water filters in their homes. The cost of a water filter for well-off families is not significant, but for people with low incomes, it is a problem. If the quality of domestic water is guaranteed, why do people have to spend money to buy water filters?
Besides, there is the price of water; there is the service attitude of the water supplier - Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company. During the subsidy period, people said that customers are "gods". But now the "gods" are being "tortured" by Nghe An Water Supply Joint Stock Company.
The current price of tap water in Vinh City is higher than the national average. Meanwhile, since the beginning of 2019, this company has done many very strange things, causing trouble for the people... We thought: Is it because of monopoly?

But happy, then sad. Because through the explanation and response of the representatives of relevant agencies, I feel unsatisfied.
Regarding the quality of domestic water, the health sector said that it has conducted tests according to regulations, meeting this or that standard of the Ministry of Health. But meeting the prescribed standards, is it guaranteed to be clean or not? There is no confirmation of this. It seems that these are two different concepts, right? The same goes for the price of water, it is not clear, not satisfying what voters expect...
We recommend that delegates continue to pay attention to the issue of quality and cost of domestic water services. Please put the interests and health of the people first to clarify the responsibilities of state management agencies and enterprises producing and trading domestic water...
