Join hands to rescue thousands of chickens that suffocated due to electrical short circuit
An electrical short circuit caused nearly 6,000 chickens belonging to Mr. Nguyen Van Cong’s family in Nghi An commune, Vinh city to suffocate. Local authorities have called for the rescue of the chickens to minimize the damage to the family.
On July 13, the chicken farm of Mr. Nguyen Van Cong's family in Kim Lien hamlet, Nghi An commune (Vinh city) had an electrical short circuit, motor fire, and loss of ventilation fan, causing the family's chickens to suffocate.

It is known that the total flock of chickens was 9,000, after more than 1 hour of power outage, nearly 6,000 chickens suffocated, total weight about 20 tons. This is a flock of chickens that have been raised for many months, now ready to be sold, each chicken weighs on average from 3 - 3.5 kg. The estimated damage is about 800 million VND.

After learning the information, the local government of Nghi An commune called on people and organizations to join hands to rescue chickens to help Mr. Cong's family.
It is known that the average selling price of each chicken weighing 3 - 3.5 kg is 200,000 - 250,000 VND, however, the rescue price is only 70,000 VND/chicken. Because the chickens died of suffocation, not from an epidemic, many people joined hands to rescue and support the family.

This was a huge loss for the family, so the local authorities quickly called for support, with each household supporting an average of 1-3 pigs. By 6:00 p.m. on July 13, the rescue was basically completed, helping Mr. Cong's family to make up for some of the losses. In addition, the local authorities also recommended that livestock farmers carefully check the power source, especially during hot weather, to minimize the risk of short circuits and fires, causing damage like this incident.
