(Baonghean.vn) – The Party Congress of Thanh Chuong district, term XXX, 2015-2020, set out to make the district a fairly developed district among the districts in the Western region of the province. This is a goal that clearly demonstrates the determination of the locality.

Movement from the base

As a purely agricultural commune, in the past 5 years, Thanh Lien has persistently implemented the transformation of crop structure, bringing commercial crops into production. Thanh Lien's approach is that based on land use planning, the locality has reserved all 5% of public land at 48 locations for people to bid, and at the same time committed to the people to carry out production according to the commune's guiding model.

Up to now, Thanh Lien has had 8 mass-produced economic models with an average income of 300 million VND/ha/year or more, such as squash, watermelon, green beans, Dien grapefruit... Especially from the successful conversion of land, 29 farms and family farms have been formed, bringing in billions of VND in income each year.

The commune has 385 hectares of rice land, with over 90% of the rice being high-quality varieties. Thanks to that, people's income has more than doubled, from 9 million VND (in 2010) to 22 million VND (in 2015). The Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2015-2020 term sets out to increase people's income to 54 million VND/person/year, more than double the current level.

To achieve the above goal, Thanh Lien commune has determined to follow "3 spears and 3 animals", including agriculture, industry, services - trade and cows, chickens, fish. In agriculture, in addition to rice production, focusing on rotating commercial crops that have proven effective, continuing to direct the formation of production areas, such as growing grapefruit on 10 hectares in Chua area; green squash in Lien Yen area; red-fleshed dragon fruit in Lien Yen area; fish, pig, chicken models in Cua Oi area... Forming service clusters at Giang market, traffic connection points between communes, residential clusters...

The garment factory project in Thanh Tien commune will attract 2,000 workers.

In Thanh Tien commune, many new economic models in cultivation and livestock breeding have been widely replicated, bringing high efficiency. Notable models include mulberry cultivation and silkworm raising; and developing herds of goats, cows, pigs, and commercial chickens.

The Ha Lan Venture Garment Export Factory project has put into operation phase I, attracting 800 workers and is completing phase II to ensure the project scale attracts 2,000 workers. This is a very important condition for increasing people's income.

In particular, the road from the district center to the resettlement area of ​​Ban Ve hydropower plant has been expanded and upgraded, and the new Rang bridge put into use is creating conditions and motivation for the trade and service economy in the commune to develop more strongly. Comrade Nguyen Van Loan - Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, shared: With the current position and strength, Thanh Tien has enough confidence to develop further.

Determination and new approach

Comrade Nguyen Van Que - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee, affirmed: Not only in each locality, the process of leading and directing the implementation of the targets and tasks of the previous term, Thanh Chuong created new positions and strengths. Most notably, the average income of the whole district increased from 11.9 million to 24 million VND/person/year, more than 2 times higher than in 2010. This is the basis for Thanh Chuong to increase people's income to 55 - 60 million VND/person/year, making Thanh Chuong a fairly well-off district by the end of the term.

To achieve the above goals, Thanh Chuong District Party Committee has proposed 15 projects and plans on socio-economic development, Party building and 6 key projects to focus on leadership and direction throughout the term.

Therefore, in conjunction with developing, expanding the area, enhancing the application of science and technology, improving the quality of raw material areas, we focus on improving processing capacity by attracting projects and building brands. We focus on directing and accompanying policies and mechanisms to develop some advantageous crops into commodities such as oranges, Dien grapefruit, black canarium... Developing livestock in the direction of strong breeds, associated with brands such as "Thanh Chuong hill chicken"...

Green bean plants are continuing to be widely grown in many communes in the district.

Along with identifying strengths to focus on, in terms of natural conditions, Thanh Chuong has 3 distinct regions: lowland; plain; semi-mountainous. All 3 regions are being focused on exploitation and forming clear economic streaks and regions.

Specifically, the low-lying areas will focus on introducing new rice varieties with high productivity and quality for the spring crop; in the summer-autumn crop, the less low-lying areas will introduce short-term, high-yield rice areas; the high-yield areas will direct corn cultivation to supply the cattle farm in Huong Son (Ha Tinh). In the plains and flat land, the production of two main rice crops and vegetables will be combined. In the semi-mountainous areas, priority will be given to developing short-term and long-term industrial crops, cassava, acacia, tea, fruit trees, medicinal plants; associated with the development of livestock and poultry in the direction of farms and ranches.
