In episode 3 of “The Ultimate Duet of Children” broadcast on the night of April 2 on THVL1, Hoai Ngan and a boy from Ha Tinh played the roles of an old couple and performed the song “Summer Sadness” very successfully. As soon as Hoai Ngan stepped onto the stage and sang the first verse, she caught the attention of the audience.

Throughout the song, there is an interweaving of two sweet, soulful voices, making the audience sob with every emotion. At the end of the performance, the coaches gave many compliments to this touching performance. Coach Thanh Duy commented, "You sing Bolero very well, your vibrato and rhythm really make me like it."

It is known that Hoai Ngan is the youngest child in a farming family of 3 siblings in Son Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district. Ngan has been passionate about singing since childhood. Whenever she likes a song, she often goes online to download it, open it, and sing along. Ngan practices singing anytime, anywhere, singing while working at home, cutting grass, or herding cows in the field. "I came to "Tuyet Dinh Song Ca Nhi" by chance when I saw the entrance exam online. After that, I convinced my parents to let me join to test myself" - Hoai Ngan shared.

On the day Ngan went to Hanoi for the preliminary round, her father quit his job to take his daughter to the competition. The two of them took a bus to Hanoi in a state of anxiety and confusion, because this was the first time Ngan had participated in a major music competition. When she received the news that she had “made it to the next round”, the whole family was very happy, Ngan’s mother decided to quit her job in the fields to take Ngan to the competition in the South.

From the first days until the third round, Ngan and her daughter flew to Ho Chi Minh City three times. It is known that the organizing committee encouraged and sponsored round-trip airfares, food and accommodation expenses for the mother and daughter during the competition, so the family was less burdened.

Talking about her daughter's passion for singing, Ms. Tran Thi Nga (45 years old) - Hoai Ngan's mother said: "At first, when we heard that our daughter wanted to enter the singing contest, the family hesitated. Later, with encouragement from siblings, relatives and neighbors, the couple arranged to take their daughter to the contest. She has loved singing since she was a child, but the family did not have the conditions for her to develop her talent, so when she entered the contest, she sang mainly with her natural ability. Even so, the family still supported her in this contest so that she could experience and satisfy her passion."

Hoai Ngan is currently studying in class 9A at Le Doan Nha Secondary School. The class's dynamic and enthusiastic choir leader always actively participates in the school's and local artistic activities. In particular, Ngan regularly participates in charity art programs to raise funds to help families in difficult circumstances in and outside Yen Thanh district. Wherever the organizers invite her, Ngan and her mother will immediately accept, even if the performance location is far away. Ngan confided: "I participate in charity to experience and learn, and to contribute to helping families in difficult circumstances."

At the end of round 3 of the contest "Duet Dinh Nhi" 2019, Hoai Ngan was the only contestant from Nghe An to continue to the next round.

After each round, Ngan and her mother flew back to Nghe An so that Ngan would not be distracted from her studies. At this time, Ngan was focusing on reviewing for the semester exams and the 10th grade entrance exam. Hoai Ngan excitedly said: “I am very happy to be with my friends in round 4. There are still many difficulties ahead, no matter what the result is, I am still happy, and will try my best to achieve my dream of becoming a singer, bringing singing to everyone.”
