(Baonghean.vn) - Surpassing thousands of junior high school contestants to reach the final round taking place in Da Nang city on April 8-10, Le Bao Chau, a student of class 6A3, Nguyen Trai Junior High School (Tan Ky) won the first prize.

Looking at her gentle and quiet face, no one would think that this student has a body of knowledge that surpasses thousands of entries to "win" first prize at the national level.

It is known that before coming to the contest "Traffic safetyfor tomorrow's smile", I also regularly take the initiative to learn knowledge related to traffic safety to understand and remember, and practice correctly when participating in traffic. Thanks to my eagerness to learn and the accumulated knowledge, I quickly passed the multiple choice questions of the competition.

For the essay section, when answering the question: "Please choose and implement a propaganda measure to raise awareness of safe traffic participation by bicycle and electric bicycle for students in your school", Chau knew how to skillfully and subtly incorporate the drawing into her exam, creating a unique mark. Chau inherited her artistic talent and was always inspired by her father - teacher Le Thanh Huyen, who is teaching Painting at Nguyen Trai Secondary School.

Nguyen Trai Secondary School where Chau is studying has 716 students selected from communes and towns in the whole district. The geographical distance to the school is up to 10km… so 80% of the students in the school go to school by bicycle and electric bicycle.

From the reality of school and Chau herself, she has realized the importance of ensuring safety when participating in traffic. Especially the issue of safe cycling and electric bicycles for middle and high school students. Therefore, Chau decided to participate in promoting the issue of safe cycling and electric bicycles through drawings:“Careless driving - Regret for life”.

The painting “Careless driving - Regret for life” reflects the reality of students when participating in traffic in residential areas. They violate traffic safety laws such as: riding side by side; weaving; letting go of both hands; doing wheelies; riding on one wheel…

Bao Chau shared: In the picture I drew, there are 2 people violating traffic safety laws - this is a common phenomenon at schools, on the streets, village roads, residential areas... The boy in the orange shirt is riding a motorbike but has both hands free; the boy in the blue shirt is doing a wheelie; they are also weaving and swerving. Violating traffic laws will affect people around them who are participating in traffic and cause unpredictable consequences for themselves, their families, schools and society. Not only that, we are living with the Covid-19 pandemic, while everyone who goes out must wear a mask and follow the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health, but the two people in the picture are not wearing masks. Through that, we can see the awareness of the two of them when participating in traffic, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, as a student, we should do things that are useful for the country, from small things like strictly following the road traffic safety law, or properly implementing the 5K message to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, so that our lives are always beautiful, prosperous and happy. "Safety is a friend - Accidents are enemies".

Also on this occasion, Nguyen Trai Secondary School was honored to have 11 more individuals winning the traffic safety contest for tomorrow's smiles, including 7 third prizes and 4 consolation prizes.

The “Traffic Safety for Tomorrow’s Smiles” contest is an activity within the framework of the traffic safety education program for middle and high school students called “Traffic Safety for Tomorrow’s Smiles” organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security). This year’s contest was launched in early January 2022 and has attracted the participation of thousands of high school and middle school students and teachers nationwide online.

After 3 months of implementation, Le Bao Chau passed the first round with 30 students nationwide to participate in the final round of the competition in Da Nang city from April 8 to April 10, 2022. The final result was that student Le Bao Chau was 1 of 12 students who won the National First Prize of the competition.
