(Baonghean.vn) - For 17 households in the landslide risk area in Bung Xat village, Chau Khe commune, Con Cuong district (Nghe An), resettlement areas must be arranged to stabilize their lives in the long term. However, it is very difficult to survey a favorable resettlement area.

Due to the heavy rains of the recent storm No. 9, a large crack appeared in the mountainous area of Bung Xat village, Chau Khe commune (Con Cuong). If a landslide occurs, in addition to the risk of burying 17 households with 68 people, it will also block the entire traffic route from Chau Khe Border Guard Station to the commune center.
To ensure the safety of households in that dangerous area, especially the impact of the upcoming storm No. 13 which will bring heavy rain, the People's CommitteeCon Cuong districtThere is a plan to evacuate people from the dangerous area. In the immediate future, 6 households at highest risk will be relocated to temporary housing in the gardens of their brothers. The remaining 11 households will remain in place, but when there is heavy rain, the locality will have to organize the evacuation from their homes.
In the long term, Con Cuong district urgently hired consultants to survey and develop a plan to urgently handle the land block at risk of landslides and arrangeResettlement, stabilizing the lives of all 17 households in areas at risk of landslides.

Mr. Vi Van Son - Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district said that the district's viewpoint is to handle the area at risk of landslides by embanking rocks to retain soil and avoid damage to roads. For 17 households in Bung Xat village, a resettlement area must be arranged to stabilize their lives in the long term. However, it is very difficult to survey a favorable resettlement area, because there are currently few suitable locations in Chau Khe commune.

Currently, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district has established a project to urgently relocate households in disaster areas.landslidein Bung Xat village, Chau Khe commune, with a total estimated investment of 20 billion VND.
Accordingly, there are 2 options: Option 1, arrange stable housing for 17 relocated households at their old place if after handling the landslide area, it ensures safety and long-term stability. Option 2, arrange stable housing for 17 relocated households at a new place in the concentrated resettlement area, or intersperse depending on the actual situation of the local land fund.
It is known that currently in Con Cuong district, there are 34 households in areas at risk of landslides in many communes that need to be relocated.
