Carrying 4 criminal records, not yet cleared, being re-imprisoned for theft
(Baonghean.vn) - Tung has 4 previous convictions for theft, with a total sentence of 88 months in prison. His criminal record has not yet been cleared, so he will continue to receive 30 months in prison.
On the morning of February 27, Tan Ky District People's Court tried a criminal case against Truong Cong Tung, (born in 1991), residing in Hamlet 16, Tan Huong Commune (Tan Ky) for theft of property.
According to the indictment, at 8:00 p.m. on December 26, 2018, Tung borrowed his mother's motorbike to go to a friend's wedding in Hamlet 9 of the same commune. After 30 minutes at the wedding, seeing that no one was watching the house next door, Tung had the intention of stealing.

Tung broke into the back door of Mr. Pham Binh Minh's house, sneaked into the bedroom of Ms. Pham Thi Luong (Mr. Minh's daughter) and stole a handbag, inside was an Iphone 5s mobile phone, a Nokia 216 mobile phone, some personal documents, and cash with a total value of 2,710,000 VND.
After stealing the property, Tung hid the handbag in the trunk of his motorbike and drove home. On the way, Tung took out his Iphone 5s and discovered that the phone had a password. Tung used the Nokia 216 phone he had just stolen to compose a text message: "If you want your documents back, give me the password" and sent it to Mr. Minh's phone number.
About 10 minutes later, without receiving a reply, Tung took his belongings and put them in his pocket, threw his handbag and all his personal documents into the river and went home.
On December 27, Tung surrendered to Tan Ky District Police, hoping to receive leniency from the law.
Ms. Luong asked Tung to compensate for the value of the handbag and the cost of redoing the documents in the amount of 2 million VND.
At the end of the trial, the panel sentenced Tung to 30 months in prison.
