Police investigate wife's complaint that husband electrocuted her and drowned her in a pond at midnight

Ms. Le Thi H., born in 1977, residing in Zone 7, Viet Hoa Ward, Hai Duong City (Hai Duong Province) filed a complaint with the police about being abused by her husband, resulting in serious injuries.

According to the complaint, Ms. H. stated that at 1:00 a.m. on August 4, while she was sleeping, her husband, Mr. Ngo Xuan Q., born in 1967, used an electric shock on her.

Talking to reporters, Mrs. H. said that her husband was smaller than her, so if he didn't shock her with electricity, he wouldn't be able to hit her. Therefore, when he was drowned in the pond, she regained consciousness.

"I tried my best to push him away and crawled to the shore. Mr. Q. did not hold back and continued to hit me on the head and face with bricks," Ms. H. recounted.

“Mr. Nhat opened the door for me to come in and left me there. Then I ran to the house of my next-door neighbor, Mr. Luong Van Dinh, to ask for help. Mr. Dinh took the car to take me to my maternal grandparents' house, helped take me to Hai Duong General Hospital for emergency treatment and reported to the local police,” Ms. H. shared.

After the incident, Ms. H. filed a petition requesting the police to investigate and handle the case according to the law.

Immediately after the incident, Ms. H.'s petition was sent to many places and posted on social networks for help.

Ms. H. said that during her hospitalization, her family went to Viet Hoa ward twice to request an injury assessment according to the instructions of the medical agency.

"But both times my father went to submit the application, the ward said that there was an epidemic so they refused to accept him. I have been discharged from the hospital for 4 days now, but I dare not return home and have to temporarily stay at my parents' house. Currently, my leg is injured, so I still need someone to help me walk," she said.

Ms. H. submitted a petition to the police requesting an investigation into her husband's abuse.

Speaking with reporters, Mr. Vu Duc Hiep, Chief of Viet Hoa Ward Police, Hai Duong City confirmed that there was a fight between a husband and wife, leading to injuries as reported in the complaint.

According to Mr. Hiep, Mrs. H. and her husband fought many times, and once the wife even beat her husband.

“Upon receiving the news, the ward police immediately arrived to assess the situation. Ms. H. was injured in the face and was taken to the hospital. Mr. Q. was also injured in a similar way (because it was dark, he could not see clearly) and was taken to Military Hospital 7.

It is not true to say that the ward did not accept the report and that the ward secretary was not responsible. The Party Secretary of Viet Hoa ward rushed out that night, calling all the relatives and many people to go find the husband and help resolve the matter.

The leader of the Hai Duong City People's Procuracy said that the unit has grasped the incident even though the victim has not yet submitted a complaint to the People's Procuracy. Currently, the Hai Duong City Police are investigating and verifying, the People's Procuracy will perform the role of supervision and coordinate in handling if there are elements of crime.
