Also according to the Ministry of Health: Domestically, the Covid-19 epidemic situation is still basically under control, but the number of new cases, hospitalizations, and severe cases are increasing slightly. The Covid-19 epidemic situation is still complicated, unstable, and unpredictable.
There are currently more than 500 sub-variants of the highly transmissible Omicron variant circulating. All of these sub-variants can evade the immune system, although they tend to cause less severe disease than earlier sub-variants.
The emergency phase of the pandemic is not over yet as the lack of vigilance in surveillance, testing, gene sequencing and vaccination continues to create conditions for the emergence of a worrying new variant that could cause significant deaths, even surpassing Omicron - the current dominant variant spreading globally.
The Ministry of Health requires all levels, sectors, localities and relevant units to continue to closely monitor the epidemic situation; regularly assess and analyze the situation and risk factors; proactively develop scenarios and response plans and implement them to respond to all possible situations of the epidemic; promptly update and supplement professional guidelines in Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control.
In particular, localities need to speed up Covid-19 vaccination, especially the 3rd and 4th doses for people aged 12 and over, and increase Covid-19 vaccination for children according to the goals set by the Government and the Prime Minister, ensuring safety, science, and effectiveness...

Dr. Chu Trong Trang - Deputy Director in charge of Nghe An Center for Disease Control stated: Currently, the immune response due to illness or vaccination is decreasing over time. The virus is constantly changing with new variants, sub-variants that have the potential to spread quickly, avoid immunity, reduce treatment effectiveness, and cannot rule out the risk of worsening and death again. People should not be subjective with Covid-19.
