Allocated 96.7 billion VND for the project to upgrade and expand Cua Hoi Fishing Port

(Baonghean.vn) - Voters of Cua Lo town requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct and accelerate the upgrading and expansion of Cua Hoi fishing port according to the set plan. At the same time, invest in building a safe anchorage for fishermen's boats.

- Regarding Cua Hoi Fishing Port: The project to upgrade and expand Cua Hoi fishing port has been approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with a total investment of 107 billion VND, of which the allocated budget is 96.7 billion VND.

In the past time, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to actively speed up the construction progress, so far the construction volume has reached more than 75% of the plan. It is expected that the project will be completed and put into use in the second quarter of 2018.

- Regarding Investment in building safe anchorages for fishermen's boats: According to Decision 1976/QD-TTg dated November 22, 2015 of the Prime Minister on "Planning the system of fishing ports and storm shelters for fishing boats until 2020, with a vision to 2030", in Cua Hoi area there is only 1 regional anchorage area, which is Cua Hoi - Xuan Pho area, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh.

Therefore, the voters' proposal to build other anchorage areas is not consistent with the approved planning.

To ensure the safety of fishermen's boats during the stormy season, the People's Committee of Cua Lo town and Nghi Loc district are requested to propagate and direct fishermen to anchor their boats at the following anchorage areas: Nghi Quang, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province or Cua Hoi - Xuan Pho anchorage area, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province.
