This festival has been organized and maintained by the local people for many generations, to commemorate a general called Pu and a woman who worked as an insider for the Lam Son army called Nha. These are two people who are believed to have contributed greatly to helping Le Loi and his generals achieve important victories in the uprising to drive out the Ming invaders in the 15th century. This little-known event takes place at the same time as the Buon Xao Festival (Tan Ky, Con Cuong) and two days after the Lam Kinh Festival (Thanh Hoa). These are events commemorating the merits of national hero Le Loi - who led the Lam Son uprising (1418 - 1427) to defeat the invasion of the Ming Dynasty. Photo: Lao Thanh Chuong |
