Members of Parliament meet with voters in Cua Lo town.
On the afternoon of October 8th, Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and a member of the 15th National Assembly, met with voters in Cua Lo town.

On behalf of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh reported on the proposed agenda for the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly and some activities of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies since the 7th Session.
Accordingly, the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly will open on October 21, 2024 and is expected to close on November 30, 2024. The National Assembly will convene at the National Assembly building and the session will be conducted in two phases (phase 1 from October 21 to November 13, 2024; phase 2 from November 20 to November 30, 2024).

Regarding legislative work, the agenda includes reviewing and passing 16 laws and 2 resolutions; providing opinions on 12 draft laws; and considering and deciding on socio-economic issues, the state budget, oversight, and other important matters.
Expressing their thoughts and aspirations to the National Assembly representatives, 15 voters from Cua Lo town submitted opinions to the National Assembly representatives regarding areas such as: Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs, land management, investment attraction projects, policies for officials after the merger of administrative units, etc.

Regarding the management of investment projects, voters in Cua Lo town reflected: The Lan Chau North Island Resort project in Nghi Thuy ward, invested by Golden City Joint Stock Company, received investment approval from the Provincial People's Committee in 2016. Due to delays in implementation, the project has been adjusted twice. Despite numerous complaints at voter meetings and sessions in Cua Lo town, the project remains unimplemented. Currently, construction has stopped, causing frustration among officials, Party members, and the public, negatively impacting urban aesthetics, and wasting resources. Voters in Cua Lo town request that relevant authorities address this issue.

Voter Nguyen Tien Loi - Chairman of the Nghi Thuy Ward Farmers' Association - reported that the Nghi Thiet oil depot's pier was destroyed by a storm, and some of its pillars remain submerged underwater in the northern part of the Lo estuary. This poses a risk of property damage and endangers the lives of fishermen when passing through the area. The people have many concerns and worries and request that the relevant authorities consider and resolve this issue to ensure the safety of fishermen when they go out to sea...
Decree 130 mobilizes personnel from ships and boats to participate in protecting Vietnam's sovereignty and sovereign rights over its seas; however, these forces do not have crew and hull insurance when participating, so in case of incidents during fishing operations, their assets are not protected. We propose that the State pay attention to supporting the purchase of hull and crew insurance for fishermen, to ensure both fishing operations and the protection of maritime sovereignty and islands.

In addition, voters in Cua Lo town requested the National Assembly to consider supplementing the list of medicines covered by health insurance. "When hospitalized, many patients have to buy additional medicines not included in the health insurance list to support their treatment... At the same time, we need to research and reconsider the duration of hospitalization support for certain specific diseases. Many patients are discharged after a course of treatment, only to be readmitted later while their illness is not yet cured. Students are required to purchase health insurance through their schools, but not through middle-income farming households, causing difficulties for many families with 2-3 children of school age," voter Nguyen Hong Hai from Nghi Thuy ward expressed.

Voters have suggested that online fraud, particularly through unfamiliar phone numbers, is becoming increasingly complex, with many people, especially the elderly, falling victim. This has caused economic losses and psychological distress. Voters request that the Ministry of Public Security strengthen control, implement measures to ensure cybersecurity, and strictly punish violators.
Voters suggested that, along with the arrangement and placement of state officials, attention should be paid to managing and handling public assets remaining after the merger of administrative units; and to addressing employment issues for contract staff.
In addition, voters raised concerns about policies for those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution; the excessive number of changes to textbooks and the use of multiple sets of textbooks; and the impact of rising wages and prices on people's lives.
Voters expressed concerns about the decline in political ideology, morality, and lifestyle among some officials and party members, the retirement age of teachers, and the allowance system for the elderly, etc.

The suggestions and recommendations from voters in Cua Lo town were addressed and clarified by Representative Vo Thi Minh Sinh and representatives from relevant departments and agencies within their authority. For suggestions outside their authority, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation received and compiled them for submission to the relevant agencies.
