The 3rd Congress of the Elderly Association of Nghe An province, term 2021 - 2026.

Attending and directing the Congress, on the Central side, there was Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee. Also attending were comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors and units; the Executive Committee of the Elderly Association for the 2015 - 2021 term and 150 delegates from districts, cities and towns in the province.

Effectively implement many large programs

In the past 5 years of implementationCongress ResolutionThe second term, 2016-2021, the Provincial Association of the Elderly (NCT) achieved many important results. The work of building the Association's organization was consolidated and promoted effectively; member development was promoted; the inspection and supervision work of the Association contributed actively to the implementation of the Association's Charter, the Association's tasks, and the protection of the legitimate and legal rights and interests of members and the elderly.

Elderly care work is implemented synchronously, achieving many practical results, actively coordinating with health communication organizations.physical examinationOn average, every year, the Elderly Association organizes annual health check-ups for over 183,000 elderly people, and establishes initial health records for 243,296 elderly people. Every year, on the occasion of the beginning of spring, the Elderly Association coordinates and advises on solemnly organizing longevity celebrations for the elderly. According to the Elderly Law, on average, every year, the whole province organizes longevity celebrations for over 55,000 elderly people with a total amount of over 12 billion VND.

The work of promoting the role of the elderly has been promoted, making positive contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. On average, every year, over 25,000 members participate in social work from team leader level and above (Party, government, mass organizations, education promotion, people's inspection, mediation); over 22,000 elderly people participate in crime prevention, ensuring order and security, and building movements for national security.

At the same time, effectively implement two major work programs, including the Program "Elderly people participate in environmental protection and construction".new ruraland civilized urban areas” and the Program "Elderly people participate in building and developing the Fund for care and promoting the role of the elderly at the grassroots level". Improve membership quality

Regarding the direction and tasks for the 2021-2026 term, the Congress determined: Solidarity and creativity in building a strong Association; strengthening the work of protecting, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly; actively participating in building and protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

Focus on building a strong and comprehensive Elderly Association, improving the quality of membership development work; strongly orienting the Association's activities towards the grassroots level; taking the Association's branches and groups as the center. Continue to promote socialization, diversify types of elderly care; promote the Association's core role in the movement "All people care for and promote the role of the elderly", striving for the elderly to live happily, healthily and happily in their families and society.

Strive to gather 97% or more of the elderly into the Association; 100% of the Elderly Associations of communes, wards and towns establish and maintain the regular operation of the Fund for Care and Promotion of the Role of the Elderly; 100% of the Elderly Associations have an Elderly Club...

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association acknowledged the achievements of the Nghe An Provincial Elderly Association in the term 2016 - 2021. In his speech, Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Congress to pay attention to the contents of the Elderly Association at all levels to effectively implement the resolutions and directives of the Party, the State and the tasks set forth by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association. Coordinate with Party committees and authorities to advise and implement the Law on the Elderly effectively and practically.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Bui Dinh Long presented the Congress with a banner bearing the words "The older the age, the higher the ambition, setting a shining example for the cause of building and protecting the homeland and country".

At the Congress, delegates unanimously elected 23 people to the Executive Committee of the Provincial Elderly Association for the 2021-2026 term. The Executive Committee unanimously elected Mr. Cao Dang Vinh - Chairman of the Provincial Elderly Association for the 2015-2021 term to continue to be re-elected as Chairman of the Provincial Elderly Association for the 2021-2026 term.

The Congress also unanimously elected 05 delegates to attend the 6th Central Congress of the Vietnam Elderly Association.

On this occasion, 14 groups and 31 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association; 01 group and 05 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 09 groups were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province for their outstanding achievements during their activities.
