The 4th Congress of Nghe An Newspaper Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025

On the morning of May 8, the Nghe An Newspaper Party Committee held its 4th Congress for the 2020-2025 term. Attending and directing the congress was comrade Chu Ba Long - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Agencies.

Innovation and improvement of the quality of publications

During the past term, the Party Committee of Nghe An Newspaper has led the professional sector with many innovations and breakthroughs, offering many solutions that have clearly contributed to improving the quality of publications.

Nghe An Newspaper has built and directed the successful operation of the "Converged Newsroom" project - the first converged newsroom model between print and electronic newspapers in the country, promoting the strengths of each publication.

Create a strong communication effect between publications, quickly and promptly provide information and entertainment needs of readers, meeting the leadership and management requirements of Party committees and authorities in the trend of integration and openness.

The "Converged Newsroom" model has been studied by many central and local press agencies.

The newspaper has put into operation the new CMS software for electronic newspapers with a beautiful, modern interface and many convenient features; especially, it has built and put into operation a professional management and publishing system, serving electronic newspaper publishing, creating a turning point in changing the presentation of articles on Nghe An Electronic Newspaper in a luxurious and classy direction.

The Party Committee led the development and implementation of a set of publishing rules; clearly described and defined the functions, tasks, rights and responsibilities for each job position and each content in the publishing process; contributing to improving the quality of operations of the Convergence Editorial Board.

Develop and issue the project "Identifying and developing the Nghe An Newspaper brand in the period of 2019 - 2022", contributing to increasing the level of brand recognition of Nghe An Newspaper among the public on Nghe An Newspaper's publications; promote and develop the Nghe An Newspaper YouTube channel, considered the 4th publication of Nghe An Newspaper, contributing to the effective implementation of the task of propagating the policies and guidelines of the Party and State in the province.

Thanks to the breakthroughs in leadership, direction and management, the quality of Nghe An Newspaper publications has been clearly improved. The information on the Newspaper's publications is quick, diverse and rich.

Currently, the quality of both printed and electronic newspapers of Nghe An Newspaper is considered to be among the top of the local Party newspaper system in the country, performing well the task of propagating the Party and State's policies and guidelines, and orienting public opinion well in the province.

During the past term, the Party Committee directed the professional sector to coordinate well with sectors and localities to inspect the handling of issues raised by the press; well received news and articles from collaborators, received citizens and handled articles from reporters with feedback.

The Party Committee has directed the professional to take care of the publishing work. The e-newspaper, after being published, was shared on social networking channels such as Facebook, especially on 9 fanpages of professional departments, which contributed to the rapid increase in the number of readers.

The Party Committee has directed the agency to review, arrange and streamline the apparatus in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 39 of the Politburo and Resolution 6 of the 12th Party Central Committee. Up to this point, the editorial office of Nghe An Newspaper has 7 departments left (compared to the beginning of the term, 3 departments have been reduced); the focal points have been streamlined, and the job positions of each person and each department have been clearly defined.

At the same time, the Party Committee pays attention to leading the implementation of social security work, taking care of the poor; taking care of union activities, improving the material and spiritual life of cadres, reporters and employees.

During the past term, Nghe An Newspaper had nearly 150 works by over 40 authors and groups of authors winning national, provincial and industry journalism awards. Many departments and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee.

The Party Committee has been assessed by superiors as having excellently and well completed its tasks; the Party Committee has been assessed by superiors as having well and excellently completed its typical tasks.

In particular, at the end of 2015, Nghe An Newspaper was honored to be awarded the title of Heroic Labor Unit in the renovation period by the President.

Building a model newsroom

Entering the 2020-2025 term, the Nghe An Newspaper Party Committee will promote the tradition of the Labor Hero unit in the renovation period, continue to strive to improve the leadership capacity of Party committees and organizations; build a contingent of cadres and Party members who are politically steadfast, have pure moral qualities, and have the working capacity to meet the requirements of the task; build strong Party organizations, unions, agencies and units, and excellently complete assigned political tasks.

Innovate and improve the overall quality of publications, do a good job of propaganda and orienting public opinion, making Nghe An Newspaper continuously develop, become a model editorial office, worthy of being the voice of the Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An; worthy of the title of Heroic Labor Unit in the renovation period.

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Agencies Chu Ba Long acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the Nghe An Newspaper Party Committee in the past term; the great efforts of the unit's cadres, party members and employees to improve the quality of publications, dare to think, dare to do with high breakthroughs.

Emphasizing that in the era of information explosion, social networks, multi-dimensional information, digital technology communication, readers' information needs are increasing, creating opportunities but also posing many challenges, requiring each officer and reporter of Nghe An Newspaper to make more efforts; continue to innovate and improve the quality of publications to spread the Nghe An Newspaper brand to readers.

Along with that, the Party Committee needs to focus on streamlining the organization and apparatus towards efficiency and effectiveness; building job positions that promote the strengths of each cadre, reporter and employee of the unit.

At the same time, there are solutions to improve the quality of Party cell activities, strengthen inspection and supervision work to build the Party organization to become a typical excellent unit.

Some specific targets for the 2020-2025 term:

-Every year, it wins 2-3 Central Press Awards, many provincial and industry press awards; The print newspaper circulation is stable at 13-14 thousand copies/issue; revenue from propaganda and advertising reaches 12-15 billion VND.

-Strive for the Party Committee to be recognized as a Party organization that has fulfilled its tasks well or better every year. Strive for 80% or more of its subordinate Party cells to fulfill their tasks well or better every year, of which 20% complete their tasks excellently.

-Strive for 85% of cadres, reporters and employees to complete assigned tasks well every year, of which 15% will achieve the title of grassroots emulation fighter.

-Build at least 8 individuals and 2 groups that are exemplary in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.
