For example, in Dien Thinh commune, every five years a grand banquet is held for the elderly aged 60 and over from 22 hamlets in the entire commune. In 2008, the grand banquet of Dien Thinh commune had over 700 elderly aged 60 and over attending.

Although Dien Van commune is a poor commune, thanks to the attention of the local Party Committee and government and the unanimous support of children and benefactors, every 3 years the commune organizes a grand banquet for the elderly.
