(Baonghean.vn) – On the evening of October 7, a herd of wild elephants came to destroy crops in the garden of Mr. Nguyen Cong Dan's family in Hamlet 15/7, Thanh Duc Commune, Thanh Chuong.

Previously, on the evening of October 6, a herd of wild elephants also came to Mr. Dan's family garden, destroying some newly planted areas of agarwood trees. The garden has an area of about 5 hectares, near the Khe Nuoc Lanh forest area, so since the beginning of the year, the herd of wild elephants has "visited" 5 times.
In previous times, the elephants destroyed fruit trees in Mr. Dan's family garden such as: bamboo shoots, jackfruit, tea, acacia, and cinnamon roots... estimated damage of nearly 10 million VND.

Local leaders directly came to encourage and share with the families who suffered losses. Thanh Chuong District People's Committee issued Document No. 2168/UBND-NN dated October 7, 2016 on ensuring the area where wild elephants operate.
Thanh Chuong District People's Committee also requested Thanh Duc and Hanh Lam communes and related units to regularly patrol and promptly detect elephant herds appearing in residential areas; coordinate with local people to implement measures to repel elephant herds by beating drums, gongs, gongs, lighting fires, etc.
At the same time, put up danger warning signs in areas where elephants appear; absolutely do not use tools or weapons to attack, directly conflict with, or cause danger or provoke elephants...
