Dien Chau district currently has 95 gas stations, of which 15 are illegal. These stations were established before 1999, and most of them do not have a business license.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district issued Notice No. 46/TB-UBND dated March 18 "on ceasing operations, not doing business and eliminating petrol stations in the district".
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district sent a notice and requested the People's Committees of related communes and 15 shop owners including 10 shops in Dien Ngoc commune, 1 shop in Dien Bich, 1 shop in Dien Hoang, 1 shop in Dien Trung, 1 shop in Dien Ky, 1 shop in Dien My to implement the removal.
Mr. Nguyen Huynh Trinh - Deputy Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Dien Chau district admitted: Many gas stations operate without a license but are very difficult to manage. After pumping fuel for fishing boats, these gas stations "close their doors", or the shop owners avoid inspection, making it very difficult.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of Dien Ngoc Commune People's Committee said: Dien Ngoc Commune has 14 petrol stations, of which 10 are not qualified to operate. The commune has mobilized, inspected and requested households to stop operating. However, some households have found ways to stay away, so far there are only 3 households still selling, they promised to sell all the barrels of oil and then stop. We will continue to inspect and monitor and report to the district on the situation of petrol trading in the commune."
One thing that is easy to see is that these stores all have in common is that they mainly sell retail to ships and boats. The petrol pumps are installed indoors, the equipment is rudimentary, unsafe, there are no price tags, no measurement regulations are followed… the potential risk of fire and explosion is very high.
