Chef who ate bun cha with Obama in Hanoi commits suicide at age 61
Famous American chef and food writer Anthony Bourdain passed away on June 8 at the age of 61, with the cause believed to be suicide.

"It is with profound sadness that we confirm the passing of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,"CNN"His love of great adventure, new friends, great food and drink, and great stories about the world made Bourdain a one-of-a-kind storyteller. His talent never ceased to amaze us and he will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and love go out to his daughter and family during this incredibly difficult time," he said in a statement today.
The cause of death was suicide. Bourdain was found dead in his hotel room in France while filming a show forCNN.
In 2016, Anthony Bourdain sat at the same table and enjoyed bun cha with then US President Barack Obama in Hanoi.
Not only a chef and host, Bourdain is also a well-known writer and television star. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1978 and worked as a chef at many large restaurants and hotels.
