Fighting against distorted and anti-Party and anti-State arguments: An urgent and regular task

Until now, some people still believe that: In the "flat world", cooperation and integration of countries that are friends and partners of each other, there is no such thing as "hostile forces", "peaceful evolution"... that we need to be vigilant, defend, and fight. Perhaps, we are creating and imagining the so-called "peaceful evolution", only to fall into confusion, panic, and make some people who are focusing on building and protecting the Fatherland distracted and confused.

But is that really true? I answer: no! We do not imagine, are not delusional, are not confused, and certainly do not lull ourselves to sleep by plots and strategies.Peaceful evolution"for our country. This is a war without smoke and fire, difficult to recognize, difficult to distinguish between enemy and us, carried out by hostile and reactionary forces using all methods and tricks, in all fields of economics, politics, ideology - culture, society, national defense, security, foreign affairs... In which, ideology - culture is a hot front, identified by them as a "breakthrough" to disintegrate beliefs, cause chaos in ideology, create anti-socialist factors within the socialist regime. Their highest goal is to eliminate Marxism - Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, eliminate the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and eliminate the social regime in our country.

They conclude that: “A radio station can also pacify a country; 1 dollar spent on propaganda has the same effect as 5 dollars spent on national defense; stirring up issues of democracy, human rights, ethnicity, and religion are four breakthroughs, four shockwaves to puncture the ideological and political front"In the book“1999 - victory without war”,Former US President Nixon repeatedly mentioned:“The ideological front is the most decisive front. All our weapons, trade activities, aid, and economic relations will be useless if we fail on the ideological front.”

In this war, we are facing a very cunning and vicious enemy. Because they wear a “new outfit” disguised in a myriad of colors, in all sorts of so-called: “in the name of internationalism”, “union”, “integration”. They hide under the guise of “experts”, “scholars”, “intellectuals”,… and are ready to usurp the people’s name, exploiting patriotism to sabotage.

Indeed, in recent years, they have been increasingly trying to sabotage with an increasingly large scale, increasingly fierce and determined nature at many levels:Low ispropagandizing distorted arguments, infecting young people with unhealthy ideologies and lifestyles, far from traditional culture, revolutionary goals and ideals;high isBribery, incitement to cause disturbances and protests, such as: Taking advantage of environmental pollution caused by Formosa in some central provinces to cause disturbances to security and order, and resisting law enforcement officers in Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district in February 2017; activities causing division among the people's great solidarity bloc in Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district in June 2017;...

To carry out these activities, hostile forces have used many tricks, among which the most dangerous are: taking advantage of the development of science and technology, especially Internet utilities, social networks (Facebook, Minds, Twitter, Skype, Zalo, Youtobe, Instagram...) to post and spread distorted arguments. They set up thousands of accounts, hundreds of reactionary political groups, forums, such as: Vietnamese language programs of radio stationsBBC, RFA, VOA, RFI; fanpage“Viet Tan”, “Patriotic Diary”, “New Horizon Media”, “Vocie”, “BPSOS”,“SBTN”,”Thoibao.de”,“Law Journal”, “HHey democratic brothers"...

Through this system of websites,they focus:Attacking, distorting, denying, and demanding the abolition of the Party's ideological foundation, which is Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought; denying and demanding the abolition of the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam; defaming and attacking the armed forces; criticizing and obstructing the implementation of the Party's policies and guidelines and the State's laws and policies; distorting, revising, and interpreting history, denying the achievements of the revolution, defaming revolutionary predecessors; promoting a selfish, narrow-minded lifestyle, valuing material things over morality; demanding freedom, democracy, and human rights in an unprincipled manner... More dangerously, they are ready to do things they have never dared to do before, such as: overthrowing General Vo Nguyen Giap and defaming President Ho Chi Minh.

can be seen, their main argument is:Distorting Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought is "outdated"; The Communist Party of Vietnam has fulfilled its mission, only with "pluralism and multi-party system" can the country develop; The Party is "cowardly with the enemy, cruel with the people", unable to protect sovereignty; victoryApril 30 is “black April, a day of national mourning”, “the Northern government invaded the South”… They exaggerated and aggravated a number of shortcomings and limitations in state management of the economy and society, especially environmental pollution, social security… to incite protests and disrupt security and order. Of course, these forces do not forget to embellish and promote the so-called “freedom”, “democracy”, “human rights”… in an illegal and unjust manner.

Recently, taking advantage of the situationCovid-19 epidemiccomplicated developments, when the entire political system from the central to local levels, departments, branches, organizations and people across the country are joining hands and uniting with the spirit of "fighting the epidemic like fighting the enemy"... they claim that: Social distancing according to Directives 15 and 16 of the Government in localities with complicated epidemic developments is a "lack of human rights", is an obstruction of people's "right to travel"... Criticizing "the government is not proactive in responding to the epidemic", "not supporting hunger relief for people", "the poor are not supported", "only people help people, the Party and government are not seen"... with the goal of causing confusion and panic in public opinion, reducing people's cooperation and consensus with the epidemic prevention measures that the government is implementing.

Those arguments are a trick to lull and lure young people and people away from traditional cultural values, valuing material things over morality; lacking responsibility towards society, and fading feelings towards the homeland and country. More dangerously, it causes many cadres and party members to be subjective, lose vigilance, and consider such matters as "somewhere else's affairs", "of some organization or agency"... and not related to them.

Even due to the impact of false and hostile arguments, some individuals have shown signs of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation", speaking, writing, commenting, sharing, and supporting false and distorted viewpoints, and criticizing history without objectivity and comprehensiveness; openly attacking and denying the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and going against the interests of the country and the people. If such manifestations are not promptly prevented, they will be a very unpredictable risk, threatening the survival of the Party, the State and the socialist regime in our country. As General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed:“Ideological degradation is the most dangerous, because it leads us down another path; money can still be recovered, but when a person has lost his political qualities and become a traitor, it is very difficult...”

Nurgent, regular tasks

For many years, the Party and the State have had many policies and measures to direct the struggle and prevention; in which, it is determined that effectively fighting and refuting the wrong viewpoints and distorted arguments of hostile forces is an urgent and constant task of the entire political system, of each cadre, party member, and of every citizen. Accordingly, the Party congress documents in the renewal period all emphasize this task, specifically:

At the 8th Congress, the Party set out the tasks that need to be"criticize and reject erroneous and hostile views", simultaneously“correcting distorted perceptions, vague views, ideological wavering, and declining faith in socialism and the Party's leadership.”At the 9th Congress, the Party affirmed:"must fight to defeat all plots andsabotageof hostile forces".

At the 10th Congress (2006), the Party continued to identify:"Proactively and resolutely criticize wrong viewpoints, reject reactionary arguments, and contribute to defeating all plots of "peaceful evolution" and violent overthrow by hostile forces. Proactively prevent, combat, and criticize manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party; overcome the degradation of political ideology and lifestyle ethics in a significant number of cadres and Party members".

At the 11th Congress (2011), the Party affirmed:“It is necessary to combine the struggle against "peaceful evolution" and against erroneous and hostile viewpoints with proactive prevention of "self-evolution and self-transformation" within the Party and overcoming political, ideological, moral and lifestyle degradation among Party cadres.pill.

At the 12th Congress (2016), the Party pointed out the tasks that need to be focused on:“Strengthening Party building and rectification;Fight, prevent and repel the degradation of political ideology, morality and lifestyle; prevent and repel manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation";tFocus on building a team of cadres, especially strategic-level cadres, with sufficient capacity, qualities and prestige, equal to the task". At the same time, once again affirm:“Intensify the fight to defeat all plots of “peaceful evolution” activities of hostile forces; proactively prevent and refute distorted, erroneous, and hostile information and viewpoints” closely linked with the internal struggle, resolutely fight against internal invasion, bureaucracy, corruption, waste, individualism, opportunistic and pragmatic lifestyle, factionalism, group interests, saying does not match doing...”.

Accordingly, in Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW (12th tenure) on "strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation", the Party affirmed:“Firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting and criticizing erroneous and hostile viewpoints is a fundamental and vital content of Party building and rectification work; it is the top priority task of the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire nation.people;is voluntary, regular, urgent, long-term workof Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels; of each locality, agency, unit, of cadres and Party members, first of all the leaders,…”

Resolution of the 4th Central Conference (12th tenure) on "strengthening Party building and rectification; preventing and repelling ideological, moral and lifestyle degradation, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party" sets out the following tasks:“Proactively prepare specific plans and measures that are appropriate to the situation; build sharp theories to effectively combat and refute the wrong viewpoints and distorted arguments of hostile and reactionary forces, opportunists and politically dissatisfied elements who sabotage the Party, the State and the great national unity bloc.”.

Most recently, at13th CongressThe Party determines:“...Improve the effectiveness of ideological work, create unity within the Party and consensus in society;cPay more attention to the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation and refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints. Resolutely and persistently fight to prevent and repel the degradation of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party...”.

The above policies demonstrate consistency in perception with a resolute attitude, uncompromising struggle against hostile, reactionary, and opportunistic political forces, resolutely eliminating erroneous and hostile arguments, contributing to protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and foiling the plots and activities of "peaceful evolution" and overthrow by hostile and reactionary forces.

To do that, we must both uphold the spirit of solidarity and vigilance, and proactively and continuously fight against the ideological and cultural sabotage of hostile forces in any form. The core is to make the Party's ideology and theory permeate all cadres, party members and the masses, especially the young generation, so that they themselves are strong and steadfast subjects that defeat all plots, tricks and methods of sabotage of hostile forces; at the same time, we must arouse national pride and self-esteem with the noble ideal of building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to become increasingly rich, prosperous, free and happy. To do so, we need to focus on implementing well the following solutions:

The first,Strengthening political and ideological education, fostering a steadfast will to follow Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, and to adhere to the ideal of national independence associated with socialism, creating high unity within the Party and in society regarding the Party's platform and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws; unity in awareness of the risk of "Peaceful Evolution" by hostile forces.

Monday,Continue to do well the work of Party building and rectification; build a strong internal force, consolidate the internal strength, taking the "people's hearts" as the foundation; improve the quality of life, study, and combativeness of grassroots Party organizations and Party members with the motto "each Party member" is a soldier on the ideological front. Strengthen Party building in terms of ethics; resolutely prevent and repel political, ideological, moral, and lifestyle degradation among a number of cadres, Party members, and in society.

Tuesday,Continue to vigorously implement the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example"; foster love for humanity, an honest, simple, frugal, honest and upright lifestyle; preserve the country's cultural identity, educate patriotism, self-respect and national pride.

Wednesday,Promote the awareness of being close to the people, learning from the people, respecting the people, and being responsible to the people among cadres and civil servants; expand democracy, promote the people's mastery in formulating policies and guidelines; strengthen propaganda, education, and dissemination of laws, well implement the Party and State's ethnic and religious policies; effectively prevent and combat corruption and negativity.
