(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 11, candidates for the 14th National Assembly and Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term met with voters of agencies, units and 9 communes and towns of Tuong Duong district.

Candidates for the National Assembly include: Mr. Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police; Mr. Nguyen Van Kim - Deputy Head of the Department of Measurement and Quality of Nghe An Province; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan - People's Court of Nghe An Province.

Candidates for the Nghe An Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term include: Mr. Luong Thanh Hai - Head of the Mountainous Ethnic Minorities Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tuong Duong District; Mr. Lo Dinh Xuyen - Chairman of the Veterans Association of Tuong Duong District; Mr. Lo Kham Xay - Vice Chairman of the Veterans Association of Tuong Duong District; Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Head of the Industry and Trade Department of Tuong Duong District.

At the meeting, voters from agencies, units, communes and towns of Tuong Duong listened to the candidates present their action programs. Focusing on the issues: Economic development, social security; food hygiene and safety; controlling traffic accidents; monitoring the implementation of policies and regimes of state agencies.

Receive voters' opinions and aspirations to be submitted to competent authorities for resolution; receive citizens' complaints and denunciations, thereby monitoring and following up on the responses of competent authorities; promote the application of science and technology in production; protect the environment; care for education and training; strengthen inspection of goods quality; enforce the law fairly and equally, and maintain order and discipline.

Together with the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Nghe An province, coordinate with the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district to promote the economic development of the district, step up the construction of infrastructure to improve the cultural and spiritual life of the people; pay attention to timely care and policies for ethnic minorities; fight against drug crimes; build a strong armed force, protect and develop the homeland of Tuong Duong to become more and more beautiful.

At the meeting, voters of Tuong Duong district hoped that the candidates would fulfill their promises. They requested that if elected, the delegates should have opinions to propose a definitive solution to the compensation and site clearance for hydroelectric projects and 220KV power lines. They should pay attention to the regime and policies for the disabled and those in difficult circumstances, and create jobs for local children after they have completed university and college programs.
