(Baonghean.vn) - The Vinh – Cua Lo road project phase 2 is an important traffic project of the province at present. The construction of the inner lanes, sidewalks, bridges, and median strips is being accelerated by construction units to compete with the weather.

Vinh - Cua Lo Road is the largest and most important route connecting Vinh with Cua Lo, a modern and practical planned axis specifically for the policy of merging Vinh city and Cua Lo town.

The project started construction at the end of July 2022 to expand urban planning, complete the transport network, create a basis to attract construction investment, promote socio-economic development of the whole region; contribute significantly to the implementation and completion of the Project to develop Vinh city, Nghe An province into an economic and cultural center of the North Central region in the spirit of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Decision 827 of the Prime Minister approving the Vinh urban development project until 2023.

Present at the construction site right at the starting point of Truong Van Linh Street (Nghi Phu Commune, Vinh City), the starting point of Vinh - Cua Lo Road Phase 2, Hoa Hiep Company's motorbikes are urgently filling the ground. Although many large projects are being constructed across the country such as Van Don - Mong Cai Expressway, North - South Expressway, national coastal road, Cai Lon - Cai Be irrigation system... Hoa Hiep Company still arranges many motorbikes to ensure the current golden progress on days when the weather is not rainy or flooded.

Mr. Pham Dinh Hanh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Hiep Company Limited said: As a contractor for the construction of Vinh - Cua Lo road phase 1 and honored to win a part of phase 2, we identified the importance of the project, the unit arranged enough machinery and equipment to construct the project with the highest aesthetic quality, because this is a major road, the main axis of the city in the future, representing part of the appearance of Vinh city and the traffic flow will be very heavy when completed.

Phase 1 of the project (from Km0+00 - Km9+680, investing in 2 sections of the two-sided frontage road, each side has a roadbed width of 10m, road surface of 9m; Km9+680 - Km10+832 investing according to the scale of roadbed width of 72m) was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1962/QD-UBND dated May 13, 2021, has been completed and put into use.

The project to build the roadbed, road surface and works on the route belongs to the Vinh - Cua Lo connecting road project (phase 2) invested by the Department of Transport.

To carry out the construction, contractors must drain all surface water on the route, remove and pump out all water, peel off the organic topsoil, pour, level and compact the ground to meet standards for the next steps.

The project was constructed by 3 contractors (Hoa Hiep Co., Ltd., Tan Hung Co., Ltd., Tan Nam Construction Joint Stock Company), mobilizing dozens of equipment and machinery, hundreds of officers and workers to carry out the construction projects according to plan, including 02 foundation projects and 01 project project to carry out main items such as draining all water, removing organic layers, filling the K95 roadbed, casting culverts...

Starting point Km0+00 intersects with Truong Van Linh Street, Vinh City. Ending point Km10+832 intersects with Binh Minh Street, Cua Lo Town. Route length 10.832km.

The construction site commander of Tan Nam Company Limited, Mr. Ho Van Dung, said: Currently, Tan Nam contractor mobilized 32 motorbikes, 6 transport trucks and 40 workers to cast concrete piles and culverts. Currently, the earth filling is being carried out urgently, the waste soil is being transported elsewhere to ensure the quality of the project. The company is constructing 7km and on the route the company is constructing, there are two concrete bridges, Nghi Duc bridge and Nghi Hoa bridge, with wide girder design and the approach road is widened to ensure traffic.

Recognizing the importance of the project, the leaders of the Department of Transport have directed the Traffic Project Management Board, contractors, and technical supervisors to stay on site to ensure the project both ensures traffic safety for neighboring areas and ensures approved progress and quality.

After each progress inspection, Director of the Department of Transport Hoang Phu Hien praised the determination of the contractors and at the same time addressed the problems arising due to the construction route in a densely populated area. He requested to add enough safety signs at the construction site, ensure traffic and environmental safety, arrange workers to regulate traffic at construction sites where earthworks are being poured, and regularly water to prevent dust; ensure that the sections before filling K95 must be dry and not have standing water...

The project has a road construction boundary from 72m to 290m wide, the designed cross-section includes the main road, the frontage road (built in phase 1), the median strip, the median strip on both sides and the sidewalks on both sides of the road.

In which: Main road is 2x16m wide (designed with 08 motor vehicle lanes, each side is 16m wide including 4 lanes); service road is 2x9m wide (roadbed and surface have been completely built in phase 1); median strip is 21m - 216m wide; median strip on both sides; Sidewalks on both sides, each side is 9m wide. The section from Km9+680 - Km10+832 (red line 72m wide) has basically been completed according to the plan, the remaining items of trees and decorative lights have not been built.

After completing the infrastructure, shade trees will be planted along the sidewalks and median strips; Landscape trees will be planted along the 3m median strip between the main road and the service road. Lighting, traffic lights and traffic safety systems will be arranged along the entire route.

The Vinh - Cua Lo road construction project phase 2 has a total investment of 1,415 billion VND (of which: Construction and installation 1,210 billion VND, site clearance cost 2.76 billion VND, contingency and other costs 202.24 billion VND.

On the route, there are 08 traffic intersections, at-grade intersections, specifically: Km0+00 intersection with Truong Van Linh Street, Km0+672 intersection with Chu Trac Street, Km1+314.5 intersection with 35m road, Km2+00 intersection with Bui The Dat Street, Km2+700 intersection with Le Ngoc Han Street, Km3+500, Km4+960 and Km8+809 intersection with coastal road. The road surface structure in the intersection is similar to the road surface structure of the main route. Traffic at the intersection will be organized by a traffic light system combined with road markings and signs. There are also two bridges on the route, Nghi Duc Bridge and Nghi Hoa Bridge.
