Proposal to build a flood control system in residential areas in Cua Lo town
(Baonghean.vn) - Voters of Nghi Hai ward (Cua Lo town) proposed that the State have a mechanism to support localities in building model residential areas; investing in building a canal system to prevent flooding.
On the afternoon of June 15, the elected Provincial People's Council delegates in Cua Lo town, including delegates: Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc; Tran Phan Long - Chief of the Office of the Cua Lo Town Party Committee, had a meeting with voters of Thu Thuy and Nghi Hai wards, Cua Lo town. Also attending were leaders of Cua Lo town and delegates of the People's Council of Cua Lo town.

At the conferences, delegate Nguyen Thi Kim Chi informed voters of Nghi Hai ward (Cua Lo town) about the expected content and program of the 6th Session - 18th Provincial People's Council.
Accordingly, the 6th session of the Provincial People's Council will take place for 2.5 days, expected from July 6 to July 8, 2022. It is expected that the session will have 23 reports submitted to the session; there will be 34 resolutions submitted to the session.
The conference listened to a summary report on the socio-economic situation of Nghe An province in the first 6 months of the year, key tasks and solutions for the last 6 months of 2022. Report on the results of handling opinions and recommendations of Cua Lo voters before, during and after the 4th session - 18th Provincial People's Council.

Expressing his thoughts and aspirations to the Provincial People's Council delegates, voter Mai Van Tinh in Trieu Tan block, Nghi Hai ward said: Building a model residential area not only contributes to promoting economic development but also preserves the traditional spirit of the countryside.
However, up to now, many constructions in the block and ward have degraded and need to be repaired, upgraded, renovated, and rebuilt. Voters proposed that the State soon have a mechanism to support localities in building model residential areas; invest in building a system of canals to prevent flooding.

Regarding the issue of environmental pollution, voter Nguyen Ngoc Minh in Hai Giang 1 block reflected that the cold storage in Hai Giang 1 block operates on a large area of land, causing noise and pollution, affecting the lives of the people. It is recommended that the locality and related departments and agencies need to inspect, evaluate and take measures to ensure the environment for the surrounding people.
In addition, at the conference, Nghi Hai ward voters reflected on the issue of overloaded vehicles causing material spillage affecting traffic participants, requesting that the authorities handle it. Voters requested attention to policies for block and hamlet officials; relocation of unsafe electric poles; attention to drainage systems, flood prevention; issuance and exchange of land use right certificates, etc.

Clarifying the issues proposed by Nghi Hai ward voters, Chairman of Cua Lo town People's Committee Doan Tien Dung said that right after the ward-level Party Congress, the town focused on developing a plan to build a model residential area, choosing it as a point to determine the method and support mechanism.
Building a model residential area is to meet the interests of the people, so it is necessary to propagate and mobilize to arouse the people's awareness and role as the subject. At the same time, local Party committees, authorities, and mass organizations need to take drastic action, mobilize maximum internal and external resources; have specific and flexible methods and approaches" - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo town emphasized.

Regarding the proposal on the drainage system causing flooding, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Cua Lo town requested Nghi Hai ward to review the drainage system in the area, especially the system near the coastal road; at the same time, organize irrigation work to prevent flooding.
Regarding the issue of environmental pollution from cold storage, the Chairman of the Town People's Committee said that this is an issue that the town is focusing on directing; the town requested Nghi Hai ward to inspect land use planning, construction licensing, and report to the Town People's Committee for a solution.
